I don't trust mormons. I think there is some sort of conspiracy at work.

I am just wondering if/when they will ever be able to have the "tournement of Champions" again. Not much of a tourny with only 1 person.

Well, speaking of Jeopardy! not being fun anymore, I was talking with a friend at work last night about whether the Jeopardy! bigs would eventually reinstate some sort of limit to how many days in a row you can win. It used to be 5 days, but they abolished the limit a couple years ago in order to attempt to compete with shows like Millionaire etc. Anyway, so far Ken Jennings has been a ratings spectacular for the show, but eventually people will grow weary of watching him dominate day in and day out, and it will come down to a strictly financial decision for the show's administration: be fair, play by your own rules, and watch this guy single-handedly destroy you, or somehow get rid of him. This is all assuming he doesn't get bored with the show first and just quit.

Personally, I don't get the appeal... I never watch Jeopardy for the people (with the exception of that blind guy, he was cool). I just watch it to feel smarter than the people I'm watching with. tongue

I'm guessing they'll have to reinstate the 5 day rule at some point. I'm thinking maybe it's just for this year since it's the 20th season or whatever.

seriously...that guy must have a mind like a steel trap...or maybe he is just a well trained mormon...God knows it takes a good memory to memorize all that stuff that they have to memorize...(mormons, not Jeopardy! contestants)

I personally believe the conspiracy angle...Jeopardy is just trying to get back its 6:30 time slot, so they find some guy with total recall and give him a fake identity, put him on the show and then when it is all done, they erase his memory and toss him out on the streets of chicago...or maybe new orleans...

They totally killed it by allowing people to return; there's lots of people that could easily have kept going just like he has and it's just ruining it for everyone else. I stopped watching Jeopardy a few years ago after they started to fuck with it.

Why do people consistently feel the need to change things that work just fine the way they are?

I dunno. I'm happy for the guy. He obviously dersrves it, if he keeps winning. Although I always root for the underdog, so I hope someone beats him someday.

I don't see what's wrong. The whole point of the show is to discover the smartest person on Earth through natural selection, and breed them. Right?
