No, what's weird is that the people running the DoD have never done any military or LEO work.

And incidentally, the shift towards conservatism in the military ranks is an artifact of the last fifteen years or so. There are plenty of liberal Vietnam, Korea and WWII veterans, including, to the best of my knowledge, every single major (male) liberal in federal office. Dashcle, Kennedy, Rangel, Gore, Kerry, Cleland, Harkin, Reed, Hollings, Robb, McGovern, Carter, Glenn, and Stark all served.

Oh, Jay Rockefeller wasn't in the military, but he did alternative service despite there being no war for him to avoid.

Try finding a conservative hawk today in office or out today besides Rumsfeld who can say the same.

That's fair. I was just speaking of the people I know - who, like you said, are in their mid-20's - mid-40's.

What liberal media?

Good question, I agree. The media is conservative!

I see you deleted the whatever . Maybe you really believe that people "report" things without adding their slant; in truth, none do. Most of the reporters out there have a rather liberal bias. Try using multiple sources for an event that you attend and see how it's covered. More often than not, a single point will be spun a certain way - usually out of context. Given the influence of liberals in the undergraduate system, it shouldn't come as any surprise that many of these reporters and journalists have a liberal stance.

I did delete the whatever because I find it difficult to believe that people still think there is some overwhelming consensus in amongst writers and media-producers that liberalism is so hot right now. Every story is written or produced by an individual or individual and hence every story will probably be slanted one way or the other to varying degrees.

But if writers have all decided that supporting Democrats is 100% the way to go, I must've missed the meeting.
