It is still VERY fresh, and I can't find any other citations supporting or denying.

While there may be some truth to the issue (who isn't on SSRIs nowadays), I don't think the situation is that dire. Given the somewhat ridiculous nature of the non-cited quotes, I'm going thumbs down on this one.

These comments make me think that if it is true he isn't on SSRIs:

The doctors also worry about the wisdom of giving powerful anti-depressant drugs to a person with a history of chemical dependency. Bush is an admitted alcoholic, although he never sought treatment in a formal program, and stories about his cocaine use as a younger man haunted his campaigns for Texas governor and his first campaign for President.

“President Bush is an untreated alcoholic with paranoid and megalomaniac tendencies,” Dr. Frank adds.

The White House did not return phone calls seeking comment on this article.

Although the exact drugs Bush takes to control his depression and behavior are not known, White House sources say they are “powerful medications” designed to bring his erratic actions under control. While Col. Tubb regularly releases a synopsis of the President’s annual physical, details of the President’s health and any drugs or treatment he may receive are not public record and are guarded zealously by the secretive cadre of aides that surround the President.

But these comments also make me think it's cobblers.

All of the quotes attributed to anonymous aides seem more than a little unlikely.

The only confirmation from a named source comes from Dr Justin Frank.
Has he met Bush? No.
Has he met Bush's physician? Not that I'm aware of.
Has he written a book in which he diagnoses Bush as being unstable based on events in the public domain? Yes.

Of course the author of that book is going to say, "Yes you're right; the man's a fruitcake" but what he's really saying is, "You see everyone, I told you! Now will you buy my book? I'm a professor and everything!"

It is. It means that it's a load of nonsense. It's actually an old piece of Cockney Rhyming Slang although I doubt many Brits even know that these days.
It comes from Cobbler's Awl , the rhyme being Ball.
It's cobblers = it's balls = it's bollocks = it's nonsense.

Hey, Lincoln would've been on drugs if he were alive today...

But voters don't care about that. I could never get elected with my mental history, so Bush shouldn't be allowed to, either.

i say we create an ultimate presidential robot. the picture in my mind is pretty much of ed-209 from robocop. not only will it be level headed, but it would be able to protect itself, freeing up millions of dollars in secret service salaries. plus it would be an awesome negotiator at world summit meetings.

edited to say:
as long as it was made in the usa
