I think Kennedy sounded like an idiot up there on stage last night. I had to turn the channel because he made my ears hurt.

concerning speeches last nite...barack obama - First Black President. despite my political views, this man would have my vote. and not just a vote, i'll volunteer to work for his campaign.

dems should focus on hilary '08 and '12 followed by eight years of obama.

Wayne Newton? Wow - the USO really has its finger on the pulse of young America! biggrin

what does the USO have to do with youth. do you know what the USO is

from the USO website

The USO mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to uniformed military personnel. The original intent of Congress—and enduring style of USO delivery—is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military.

what does that have to do with youth.

Well, unless the majority of troops over in the middle east are over 60, I highly doubt that Wayne Newton is high up on their preferred listening lists. I understand what the USO does. I'm sure Mr. Newton's efforts are appreciated, if not met with enthusiasm. It would be nice if some younger acts would go over and give some respite to the poor bastards stuck in that quagmire.

That's what that has to do with youth.

the sad thing is the youth doesn't really care about our men and women in uniform. So i think its great that people of all generations care about their men and women in uniform

I love Al Sharpton. biggrin

"We're gonna ride this donkey all the way to the White House!"

and that analogy about Ray Charles was fantastic. He's a natural preacher. Good to see a little off-the-script, off-"message" moment at this thing.

And Barak Obama, 2012!!

Kerry nailed it. 'course, I am somewhat biased. That and my man Max Cleland from the old home gave an awesome intro.

Anyway, I have a new bumper sticker. A picture of Bush in his flight suit and the phrase "Unfit for Duty"
