We the People

At risk of having this moved to silliness, and in light of the recent "Allow [State X] to Peacefully Secede" petitions getting media attention on the White House's "We the People" site, I would like to bring your attention to several other pressing petitions on We the People:

Peacefully grant the City of Atlanta leave to withdraw from the State of Georgia and remain part of the United States

Nationalize the Twinkie industry

We, the People, DEMAND an immediate, thorough and honest investigation into GEO-ENGINEERING, HAARP, & "CHEMTRAILS"

have the President to attend a Fark.com party. If scheduling does not permit, at least have a beer with Drew Curtis

provide University graduates ability to trade their diplomas back for 100% tuition refunds.

Establish new legal system of motorcycle riding "Judges" who serve as police, judge, jury, and executioner all in one.

Build a statue of Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan John-117 on the lawn of the White House.

Transfer funds from the drug war to fund the research and development of the genetic engineering of domestic cat girls.

You're talking about conspiracy theorists, here. Logic and reason are not among their strong suits.

I'm actually kind of in support of nationalizing Twinkie production... but only if Sno-Balls are included!

And I'm all for compromise: how about we build the Master Chief statue in front of the Pentagon (because that would be awesome...)?

Reminds me of a great Stephen Hawking quote about aliens, that also applies here:

"If governments are involved in covering up the knowledge of aliens, then they are doing a much better job of it than they seem to do at anything else."

Perhaps, but this would be a case of setting the thief in question to catch him or herself (well, insomuch as the entire government being a nebulous entity thats as rife with conspiracies as such theorists are apt to believe).

Nevertheless, it's a silly petition. However, I would be down for a full disclosure of bioengineering and GMO's (specifically Monsanto's Roundup Ready crops which really are harmful to livestock and humans). That would actually be a worthwhile petition...

I was born and raised in Florida. I feel those who succeeded the first time were traitors.

This one just crossed the 25,000 signature threshold. That's the number the White House promises will generate an official response:

Secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016.

I heard something about this, I think it was on Maddow, and how the people over at World Net Daily believe Obama is now in the process of building a real Death Star. And they're serious.
