Has anyone gone to see this film yet?
http://2016themovie.com/

Does it have any actual substance to it, or is it just a "ZOMG!!!1111 OBAMA IS GUNNA MAKE US KENYA!" crapfest?

It's from a book by Dinesh D'Souza. Of course it doesn't have any substance.

I'm just surprised Molen would have anything to do with it.

Thanks, now I know I don't have to bother. For anyone unfamiliar with D'Souza, you can expect anything he touches to have the same amount of merit and honesty as your average Ray Comfort flick. He's proved time and time again that he belongs on The Grand List Of People Not Worth Hearing.

It's Thomas Sowell-approved.

Bill Maher interviewed Dinesh D'Souza about the movie and made him look like a total asshole. Which wasnt hard. But Bill positively skewered him.

Saw it yesterday and after went home to fact check some things. I wasn't surprised to see that 98% of the film is stated in fact about Obama. We went with a group of 5 guys, 2 of which were Dems. Neither of which will support Obama in the coming election, but weren't going to anyway; the film was just the final nail.

What exactly do you mean by "fact check?" What sources did you look at? Show your work.

So as a fact check on D'Souza's movie, you post an article by D'Souza.

This is parody, right?

Pro-tip: It isn't a fact-check when it's the author of the book the film is based on attacking an actual fact-check written by an actual journalist.

Jesus christ this is really, very basic concepts.

Y'all can't just fucking append words to things and pretend that they somehow transmute the thing into the label you just hastily applied to it.

Maher has had it in for D'Souza ever since the incident that got him taken off the air in 2001. I was expecting that interview to be a bloodbath, and it sure was.

Besides which, those "many" Google hits actually amount to just three ultimate sources:
1: AP's original fact-checking article. Which may or may not have done a very good job.
2: D'Souza's response to that article. Which he basically views as a biased hatchet job. Big surprise, I know.
3: Media Matters' criticism of Forbes for apparently not fact-checking D'Souza's book (the source for the film) at all before publishing it.

That's pretty much it. The rest of the hits are simply repostings and commentaries of one of those three. Not additional fact checking.

I'm still baffled how some people who are supposedly familiar with the internet would believe that one thing being posted lots of times means that lots of different things have been written. Just baffled.

I hear this is just Republican wanking material. Basically this guy offers his speculation on why Obama is such an angry black leftist, and oh, it's because his Dad's from Africa and they're so foreign there! That's porno for Obama haters. The rest of us don't look at these facts and draw the same conclusions.

Having lived in Punta Gorda for many years is good to see that the sub-standard schooling still does not cover critical thinking. I had to learn that and many other essential skills when I moved to the big city and learned their fancy ways.
