This bill was passed in secrecy last summer and police have actually started gun drawn raids on organic food stores.
Heres the video that explains S510 and the repercussions it will have on our nation

and heres the gun drawn police raids on a organic health food store shortly after the bill was passed last year.

Not many people know about this and it is the start to a catastrophic new set of laws that will end in mandated food stamps similar to World War 2 in my opinion(but I am a bit more jaded than most). Please just share these videos with your friends and families and help spread awareness of this fascist law because this is by far the most terrifying bill our Senate has ever passed.

Do you not remember The Patriot Act?

Also, can anyone find a link to the actual bill itself? I've looked (not very hard, mind you) and all the information i can find is sensationalized backlash. "ZOMG!!! MY GRANDMA CAN'T GROW TOMATOES ANYMORE!!!"

According to this, it never made it to law. Passed the senate, but not sure it got further.

I cannot find any serious source to back up the OP claims. Plenty of fringe stuff, but nothing reliable.

My bullshit meter is totally going off on this. Guns drawn in healthfood stores? What? No.

Aren't Senate Bills headed "SB###" instead of "S###"?

THANK YOUkiss
and yes if i can remember my research correctly(its been about a year) it was a bill in 09 and after some revisions it passed in 2010 without any press by the mainstream media. And to Rory the patriot act was a law that mainly allowed for complete monitoring over our communications by the federal government, both physical and electronic but S510 fucks with the food you eat bro.

Okay.... but did you read the whole article she linked?
Because it doesn't support your claims. At all.

Was there a thread about this a while back? There is something familiar about this topic but I am not sure whether I saw this previously on SG or elsewhere.

This seems to be the part the OP did not read.

MYTH: H.R. 875 "makes it illegal to grow your own garden" and would result in the"criminalization of the backyard gardener."

FACT: There is no language in the bill that would regulate, penalize, or shut down backyard gardens. The focus of the bill is to ensure the safety of food in interstate commerce.

MYTH: H.R. 875 would mean a "goodbye to farmers markets" because it would regulate and penalize "each farmer who wishes to sell locally."

FACT: There is no language in the bill that would result in farmers markets beingregulated, penalized by any fines, or shut down. Farmers markets would be able to continue to flourish under the bill. In fact, the bill would insist that imported foods meet strict safety standards to ensure that unsafe imported foods are not competing with locally-grown foods.

MYTH: H.R. 875 would result in the "death of organic farming" or "mandate the use ofchemicals or certain types of seeds on organic farms."

FACT: There is no language in the bill that would stop or interfere with organic farming. The National Organic Program (NOP) is under the jurisdiction of the United StatesDepartment of Agriculture (USDA). The Food Safety Modernization Act only addresses food safety issues under the jurisdiction of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

MYTH: H.R. 875 would implement a national animal ID system (NAIS).

FACT: There is no language in the bill that would implement NAIS, which is under the jurisdiction of the USDA. H.R. 875 addresses issues under the jurisdiction of the FDA.

oh, it's all too true, but mostly over raw/unpasturized goats milk & products (yoghurt, cheese)

Hasn't stopped me from buying raw goats milk from my coop/shared ownership goat herd at the grass-fed farm I am a member of, but we're much more careful with knowing who people are and confirming membership info.

^^^Something similar is trying to get passed in NZ at the moment, would make it even more illegal to buy or sell raw milk. I still buy and drink it, we're just a little more careful about it.

Ok, everythings starting to come back to me now. What she linked to was the food safety modernization act of 09 which was voted on and passed without judicial review,
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-2749
The article that persephone linked to failed to mention that any remaining organic food stores would have to be private membership stores and the owners of the store would have to report their inventory to a national food czar. I dont personally know any organic food store owners or if any do this or if the store owners have just decided to react with complete nullification to the bill. However bills that have tried to establish a federal food czar are not new and dates back to 1974 with the Kissinger act and the "National Security Study Memorandum" which was a 200 page study on population growth in the U.S. as compared to other third world countries and the demand that would have on our agriculture infrastructure. They then labeled the demand that third world countries have is a threat to the security of the U.S. which is when they began talks of curtailing food supplies to third world countries for more effective population control. I know it sounds crazy but so does the CIA smuggling thousands of tons of cheap coke into the inner-city streets of America, and we all know how that ended up.

I just realized how this comment came across... I meant that there is a bill being passed in NZ which specifically bans herd shares, meaning I can't own a share of a herd, pay an agistment fee, and take and use the raw milk I gain from that herd share and do whatever I want with it.

I didn't mean yes, all true, evil government raiding organics stores and making backyard tomatoes illegal.

In hindsight, my comment was both off-topic and poorly worded. Sorry.
