I wonder why Americans have to send our troops all over the world? Why do we have to spend our hard earned dollars to defend, Germany, South Korea, Japan? What does it bring us? Why do we have pour our dollars into education that is not working, into Medicare that has a fraud rate of over 20%? Why is it that we have not applied modern management techniques to our government spending? Things like ROI, and Six Sigma?

Seriously? Among other things, it gives us strategic launching points when we need to deploy our troops and supplies to already deployed troops.

In other news the Army times has reported DOD asking for the removal of 49,000 troops, as per Desert Storm a lotta soldiers airmen and Marines will be kicked out, forcible retired or given the option of early retirement. This will be all well and good until the next major conflicts pops off and we are chasing are asses again trying to met recruiting goals for a new war.
I have studied six sigma and the basic concept is to identify your process and constantly move to improve results. As opposed to simply throwing money at things. Please do not assume that I meant we need to fire any soldiers. I am not sure of the recruiting rate but I am sure that thousands are brought into the military yearly. Just slow down hiring. Our borders need more security and the money we spend on foreign bases is huge. We do not need forward bases if we agree that the US is not the world's police man.
