Man, Julian just signed his own death warrant.
I give him a year after this, something like a car crash.
No if this is any indication of what else is in those cables I give him a month tops and it will be done in an obvious way so as to deter others from doing the same. The only question will be who actually killed him.

Did I hear Adm. Mullen saying that "countless" lives would be "put at risk" by this?
And am I the only person who heard that as a threat?

To beat whichever troll to the punch: Hillary will set up a Vince Foster style situation.
On the real, though, I think Colinism has the right of it, and my guess would be any one of the UAE honchos who will be, at best, severely humiliated by the contents. Whether or not any of them are worried about what Iran thinks of them, they will bristle at being exposed as having asked for that sort of aid in that sort of tone. They usually approach things along the lines of looking tranquil and acting in silence. Add in the mountains of dough and multiple contacts around the globe, and it totals up to a Saudi bullet with "Assange" inscribed.

Uhhh... Seriously? You didn't hear that as the same thing they say every time Wikileaks has released documents? Why would he have said "countless" (and they always do) if he weren't referring to the diplomats and officials whose actions have been exposed by the leaks? Assange only has one kid and eight fellow board members, after all. I'm pretty sure Mullen can count to ten.

Were any of these things really secret?
The space between "suspicion" and "confirmation" yawns like the Grand Canyon. (Minus the "alleged" links part, obviously.)

Certainly I did. "Countless" can be spun, and it means "uncounted". Could be none; could be dozens.
The problem with referring to diplomats etc. is that there is no way that those officials' lives will be risked by having their opinions quoted. They might have black marks on their annual reports, but is any of them really going to be killed for what they said? How often does that happen to US officials?
Edit: I should add that threats aren't necessarily accurate. Know what I mean?
