Asshole Taliban Releases Propaganda Video of Captured U.S. Solider

This is somewhat disturbing. I'm no psychologist, so I'll keep the armchair analysis to myself, but it's pretty unnerving.

Unnerving is a good word. I'm pretty unsettled after watching that.

Depressing is a very appropriate word.

And made even more sad because of the torturing done by the Bush Administration. We have no moral high ground on soldiers taken hostage.

This is exactly what people like Joe Biden were warning about.

i'm beyond fucking flabergasted at how, not only did the guy let himself be captured, but how the fuck do his fellow soldiers let one of their own get captured?? i mean... seriously.. huh???

he's NG. no offense to the NG, but there's a big difference in the readiness of a unit that trains a few weekends a month, versus that of a unit that trains for their mission continuously and for combat regularly, versus that of a unit that just trains for combat constantly.

if his buddies let him get captured because he was lagging on a patrol, then they seriously need to amp up their training.

Even Fox News dedicated more time to the National Guard birther that volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan and then subsequently sued the DoD to grandstand their shockingly stupid movement.

right now, the second marine expeditionary bridage is redirecting its limited resources to try and find this douchebag. as if they didnt have a hard enough task as it is, now they have to go risk their lives to help a guy who selfishly put the lives of other troops in danger just so he could go have some drinks.

its one thing to be overwhelmed by the enemy and inevitably captured, and something entirely different to sneak out of the wire to go have some drinks and end up delaying an entire brigade due to your own stupidity.
