Holy fuck...I got about 30 seconds into that then felt my head was about to explode and had to stop it.
I liked it a lot more than I expected to. I liked the sly chord changes to give it a Middle Eastern feel. I liked the way he brought out a ("gay") subtext. The boy can sing, too, and that didn't hurt.
How can any person over the age of 19 stand to see these songs get destroyed? Fucking seriously.
Tell me about it, this is my mother's favorite show and it makes me want to vomit. And yes Coyotemike, I have seen the audition tape for the anti-gay marriage on Rachel Maddow and I was totally confused by it. I couldn’t decide between laughing hysterically at it or vomiting out of sheer disgust. I compromised by watching it and saying ‘WTF?!” at the end. Oh, and on an unrelated note, does anyone else find Rachel Maddow hot? I can’t help it, I likes me the smart women, heh heh. Oh, and Reaper, seriously, you need to take some time off from the AFFR, I’m afraid your head is going to explode if you don’t take a break. Seriously dude, I’m worried about you. Of course I read this every week so; maybe I should worry about myself…
I’m getting confused now.
Oh well, I have to end this, I have to go everyone. I have to get back to my idea. It’s like an embryo gestating in the uterus of my brain…….
And yes, I’ve been drinking, get the fuck over it…..
And no, I will not be embarrassed by this post in the morning.
I don't watch American Idol. I'm thankful for that
What this Adam Lambert individual does is technically good, but lacking emotional content ... I don't hear joy, or confusion, or pain, or longing, or frustration, or even casual malaise; it has all been filtered out, and all that remains is a skeletal form of what music can be.
"American Idol"? My vote goes for "The American Ruse".
Thanks for this Fear. My thoughts... As we progress forward and grow as a society, instead of acceptance we have more segregation in a more disrespectful, coy, manipulative fashion. People will be people and I think love in any form is great in these darker times... They will need to learn to tolerate this behavior as it becomes more prominent lest start an all out war where there needs to be none.

in england, if someones homophobic or racist..they tend to keep it pretty quiet...
Unless they're at a football match.
Well technically when people watch American Football or normal Football, refuse to call it the other thing, they tend to become fucking savage inbred morons. It's an excuse to be a destructive hatemongering piece of shit for a few hours. I hate organised sports. *sigh*
Even in a second world country like Greece if an add like that was used on prime time TV, you can bet your ass the group responsible would get their members harassed and probably have their offices blown up. On second thoughts I doubt any prime TV channel would even agree to air it in the first place.

Yeah, of the hundreds of thousands of people going to a football match this weekend every last one of them will regress to a primal state. It's obviously not just a small minority who the rest of the fans despise
As for racist/homophobic chanting, it does occasionally happen but if people are caught they get charged. However, given the prominence of rags like the Daily Mail and the resurgence of the BNP I'm surprised that people think racists and homophobes 'keep it quiet'.

I wasn't speaking specifically about the UK, and obviously I do not believe that everyone who watches the game magically becomes a jerk, however I have known kind polite people who I invite in to my house, become fucking douchebags within minutes after starting to watch the match on telly.
Things might have also changed a lot since I lived in the UK, but I still remember living in Sunderland and watching cars burn when the locals where playing with Newcastle. So yeah, not everyone, and probably a minority, but still a large enough number to give organised sports a really bad name.
On racism in the UK I am pretty certain things have not changed that much since I was there. I've heard racist comments on the street and even had a friend end in hospital after being beaten to a pulp because he looked vaguely arabic. Even got some interesting comments about going back to Bagdad myself after 9/11. However I am pretty sure you would not see an add like that on the telly even now.
PS: I think Episode five of Life on Mars really showcases what is wrong with hooliganism and primal urges in sports.

Do you understand what the character is alluding to there? Because you've taken that quote out of the context of the scene as a whole.

Did anybody else catch Rachel Maddow last night (I think it was last night. Might have been the night before. Anyway)? She had the audition tapes from the anti-gay ad, full of these dim-witted rejects who had trouble with the word "rainbow".
I couldn't find any relevant clips on her site, but I found what seems to be brief audition clips spliced into this:
Is that the kind of thing you saw?

He is refering to the insident in Hillsborough back in 1989. Like Sam I have no problem with organised sports as long as members of the oposing team can sit together and enjoy a match, in the same episode we see two friends, one supporting Manchester United and another supporting Manchester City going to the match together. That is an example of how it -should- be.
I'm biased by my own experiences, I make no mistakes about that, however I am sick and tired of having to pay tax money so that police can keep the peace in a game. This is not a new thing, this happened in Byzantium and Rome all over through the ages.
PS: From what I gather in the US, American Football matches do not get that violent, but the under current of using it as an excuse to vent anger and hate seems to be the same.
I agree we need to pick American names. What is with all of these foreigners coming here and making us learn their stupid language? I pick "Rain In The Morning." Ok, It's a little gay but I was born on a rainy morning and since I am going to be forced to marry a guy, I might as well.
By the way, did anyone's gaydar go off every time one of those repressed idiots talked about the coming storm? Such fags.
- Rain In The Morning (formerly known as Bill Smith, yes I know it's hard to pronounce)

Bdeaxn, We aren't all that way, its just that texas, and a few of the other douchebagistan states are flooded with dipshits (save for present company residents of course).
i hope not, its a shame, all i see online, in the news etc are the mental right wing americans. maybe it makes it seem like theres more of them.

Wait so just to understand Gays getting Married = a ok
Gays signing Rolling Stones songs = no?
Fuck off
to much hypocrisy here.
That was some serious thinkin'.
I don't think a single person in this thread has objected to the singing of a song because the person in question was homosexual. Read that shit again, perfesser.
