Critics say demolishing housing that has been here for years and relocating some residents but not others will hurt many who live on the margins of society.
"They'll be pushed to the brink," said A.K. Roy of the Hazards Centre Sanchal Foundation, a non-governmental organization.
"Eventually I think what the planners are doing, they are not realizing they'll be building up a pool of violence."
We should send Barney Frank and Chris Dodd there on a fact-finding visit. They gave the poor taxpayer-backed mortgages and destroyed the international financial system. We'd be better off if we just did what India is doing.

So folks who don't "qualify" for the relocation program are SOL, huh?
Let me guess what's going to happen within the next few years (hint: forcibly displaced people don't tend to take it quite that well...).
New Delhi is going to look lovely by 2010 for the Games being hosted there. The areas they want tourists at will be a gem for all to see, and then... there's the slums and ghettos and it goes straight to 3rd world conditions.
