I'm curious as to what a lot of people are thinking of doing... I myself refuse to vote for George Bush, but at the same time I'm not thrilled about any of the democratic candidates. I like some of Dean's record, and I like some of what Clark says, but for some reason I just feel kinda like hope is lost as far as anyone being able to beat bush frown Atleast in Virginia anyway. I live in a pretty conservative state, so maybe my worries are a little unfounded... I'm just wondering if other people are feeling disenchanted with the democratic candidates?

If you're going to vote in the primaries, who do you think you'd vote for?

At the beginning of the race, I was really interested. I liked a lot of what Clark had to say, and I actually think he'd do a great job of helping repair the problems that our country has been given, but at the same time, I think a lot of democrats don't see him as liberal enough... or whatever. I dunno.

I just hope more youth come out and vote this time

After the way the last election went, I'm not all that optimistic about someone winning against Bush even if the Democrats have the best candidate in the world.

I'm not even sure I'll vote Democratic this year. There's always the Green Party, or the Libertarians. If I do decide to go with the Democratic candidate my major litmus test will be if they supported the Iraqi war, or if they were a Senator if they voted in support of the war. Which means if Kerry is who runs against Bush, I'm not voting Democrat.

My only qualm with someone who replaces bush is that they pull out of iraq properly. I fear that if someone comes in and just decides to pull out all the troops and funding and stuff for reconstruction, that it will just cause more hatred towards us from the iraqi people. I think that since we've already gone in and demolished the place, that it's our responsibility to rebuild it. I was very against going into iraq, but I think that just leaving now would cause more problems than if we had never gone in at all.

Unless the Democratic candidate sucks worse than Bush, I plan to vote Democratic (read: not for Bush). We HAVE to get that monkey out of office.

Check out Dennis Kucinich. The man has a hell of a brain, and I think he is genuinely interested in the good of the common man. He's got alot against him in America... .He's short, doesn't have "executive hair", and speaks his mind..... But out of all the candidates I have checked out, he is head and shoulders above the rest.
Some good websites to check out for news:
The Nation
guerrilla news network
Independent Media Center
Zmag
There's more out there I'm sure. Anybody else have some cool liberal/independent links?

Kerry voted in favor of the war as a Senator, but you can bet you ass that in true democrat fashion, he is against the war now because he feels it will help him earn votes. puke

I'm not voting...I'm running biggrin

I can see the debate now: "Yes, I smoked pot. I even inhaled. Many, many, many, many times. Hell, I even liked it. At least I'm not lying about it. Every joint I smoked took one more out of the hands of young children. I was only doing my part for America's youth."

Heh, I did a lot of people's part. wink

I definately agree with you... I just wish that america would actually vote for him. It's rare that you see a politician who speaks so passionately about his beliefs. He's the first guy I've ever seen who doesn't lie to get peoples' attention. The way people are swayed is sickening to me.
