Mediator unable to bring SAG, AMPTP together

"As previously authorized by the national board of directors, we will now launch a full-scale education campaign in support of a strike authorization referendum," SAG said. "We will further inform our members about the core, critical issues unique to actors that remain in dispute."

No timeline was given on when materials would be sent out or a strike vote would be taken.

This was not the news I wanted. I am going to be heartbroken if this messes up my prime time regulars.

Well, if the actors go on strike they might actually have to get quasi-normal people in reality TV shows. That would make them actual reality TV shows. That might be interesting.

I'd watch actual, intelligent, thoughtful people respond to interesting circumstances without a script. People who aren't there because they think it'll be good for their careers might have something interesting to say.

So I'm being optimistic. Some might say delusionally so. But hey- it stops the tears.

Or wannabe actors who aren't in the union. But I thought the writers strike would never end because they'd just hire scab writers, so what do I know?

I doubt that the union members will get much sympathy with the current economy . Don't take that the wrong way , I hate for anyone to get fucked over by their " bosses " . Just with jobs being so hard to come by right now , I can only see a little commiserating going on .
