The First Puppy--Make Your Recommendations!

I won't lie: tonight, I emailed the transition team at change.gov to make my suggestion of a dog breed for the First Puppy appointment. Apparently one of his daughters has allergies, so they need a non-shedder, and I also have allergies, and have had dogs in my past, so I really couldn't resist. That would be un-American, you know? Not to share my knowledge?

At any rate, I recommended the wire fox terrier.









. . . and a puppy!

Which dog would you recommend to our newest president-elect and his family?

Yorkies!

Also hypo-allergenic. Also hella cute and hella awesome. Plus, a Yorkie would reach out in solidarity to our greatest ally, Great Britain. Also also: They're ratters, so they would be able to ferret out any vermin in the White House. Like Joe Lieberman, for example.

Yeah I'm going to have to go ahead and vote for the Yorkie. I'm not a US citizen though so feel free to discard my ballot.

I think Australian Silky Terriers are the cutest dogs in the world.

. . . Do they shed, though? One of the daughters--I think it's Malia, but I don't remember for sure--is allergic to things, so shedding dogs are sadly out of the running, I would assume.

Sweet! I'm sticking with the Yorkie. Though lil_tuffy nearly had me with the dog version of the black and white cookie.

The picture of a teeny tiny yorkie chasing down Joe Lieberman is going to keep me warm for days.
