Well this is certainly not an honor bestowed upon Dubya. While his was not successful the best he could garner was a tad more lowly.

Antigua's prime minister wants to rename the island's highest mountain peak "Mount Obama" in honor of the U.S. president-elect.

"Boggy Peak," as it is currently known, soars more than 1,300 feet over the island's southern point and serves as a transmission site for broadcast and telecommunication providers. It also is a popular hiking spot.

This just sort of illustrates the ridiculously high expectations that have been set for Obama. I mean, they're naming a mountain after the guy before he even takes office. No pressure.

And once a politician is out of office, they age at light speed.

Yeah, some more than others. Clinton looks like he's nearly caught up with George H. W. Bush in terms of age, but he's 22 years younger.

What does that have to do with being a good president? Or are you replying to something else?

It was a reply to the rapid aging seen in past and present Presidents. She was just saying that he's very physically fit, and will have no problem handling the physical demands of being President.

WOW...mega woosh....

The quote function is our friend. I wasn't sure if it was a reference to aging, or to the ridiculously high expectations people have for him.

You know, the only people I hear constantly clamoring about these "unreasonable expectations" people have about Obama are his detractors. While I believe people do have reasonable expectations of him, the only ones I see calling him the "messiah" are the right wing nut jobs and McCain supporters, who can't come up with any kind of positive expectations for McCain, and even after they were soundly defeated, still find it necessary to try to slander Obama. It's truly pathetic and telling of the grasping at straws that the entire McCain campaign was based on from the very beginning.

Right! Because changing you mind based on, oh, something as silly as new evidence, or contemplation of the subject matter, is a sure sign of weakness. You should always stick to your initial ideas, no matter how wrong or misguided they may be, and ignore all evidence to the contrary. To do otherwise would be foolish. That's why we're in the terrific economic and political situation we're in now, by staying the course. It's proven to be supremely effective.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. I was referring to earlier thread posts by CKDexterHaven and OhSoOrdinary, who I believe are both Obama supporters. But carry on.
