Why don't they execute these people?

I don't get it, we burn down the homes of Child Molsters, we execute Serial Killers, and we execute child killers. So why not rapist who do this shit? I mean, work them to death or something painful, then film it and then play it at every frat house and I think this problem would go away.

Police served a search warrant on the house on Nov. 18, seizing bedding, towels, couch cushions, video tape equipment, taped footage and computer equipment to be processed for evidence.

Every time I read a story about rape I just think "how could ANYONE do that do another person?"

I don't understand it.

Apparently not if the alleged incident took place in the bathroom ... no cameras.

That is just fucking sick.

Hopefully the forensic evidence collected, combined with whatever video footage they have of this rapist asshole taking an unconscious girl into the bathroom, will send this fucker to prison for a really, really long time.

I've said it before and I'll repeatedly say it 'til the day I die: "People are assholes.".

I wonder if this will spell the death null for the real world. If anthing ever were a contrived version of the real world; do you see where I am going here?

Word.

I wonder if any of this incident will end up on the show.

Probably not, for legal reasons, but wouldn't that be something....? I bet they'd milk the hell out of that.

I don't understand it either. The people who are know this is wrong and do this shit anyway make me really angry.

Being the total pessimist that I am, I don't think this will affect MTV or the Real World one bit. They'll just keep on truckin like nothing happened. Just because someone got raped doesn't mean they don't have ads to sell.

Don't forget castration. All rapists should be castrated, chemically or otherwise. Preferably otherwise, and preferably by their victims. skull skull skull skull skull

the thing i didnt understand about the camera's is this. yeah the room mate found her and she was mostly likley raped in the bathroom. but thouse camera's had to of gotten someone giving her a drink and then passing out later or going into the bathroom and someone else going in and not comming out for a while. i think there should be some kind of lead already.

I don't want to see. This woman's been through enough and nothing about MTV or the Real World suggests they would handle it appropriately.

Yeah, but someone can continue to rape even if they are castrated. you don't need all your genitals to assault someone.

True, but it couldn't hurt. Saltpeter? A lobotomy? I dunno. Just put them out of commission. Take the desire away. I don't know exactly how one would do that. I'm pretty pissed off and not thinking straight.

Men rape because they can.
Now before I get hit with a shit storm, let me modify that to say. SOME men rape - because they can. Why they WANT to.... well because they can.
There is an old saying "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely".
If you can rape, and you use that power, I suppose it's a rush. I understand it a bit, and it horrifies me.

I can speak for one frat house where if one of our guys pulled something like this, the rest of us would be on trial for his murder. Don't go making sweeping generalizations about things you don't understand.

i believe the article said she was at a bar or something and woke up in the house. i don't think the drink thing happened there.. maybe i'm wrong... i'll go read it again!

The woman told investigators she went to a downtown nightclub on Nov. 14, where she met a man who was an acquaintance of one of the The Real World San Diego cast members. The woman told police she consumed a drink offered by the man and then blacked out.

indeed!

Perhaps you don't need your genitals to sexually assault someone... but I'd say it's good punishment.

There's a report about this on The Smoking Gun, including this lovely tidbit:

And while MTV is now claiming that they are cooperating with San Diego investigators, a "Real World" lawyer declined a police request for consent to search a bedroom in the house and stated that MTV would not turn over documents or film before she personally reviewed them. However, citing the "fragile nature of trace evidence such as hair, fingerprints, body fluids, which can easily degrade and erode over time," cops and prosecutors were unwilling to follow MTV's leisurely version of a rape investigation. Instead, they arranged a 1:45 AM telephonic application for a search warrant. That government request was granted by a Superior Court judge who allowed an immediate raid on the "Real World" house, where police seized bed sheets, pillowcases, towels, couch cushions, videotapes, computers, and other possible evidence.

Those damn cops just don't know how hard it is to film a TV show!

Full story, including the search warrant, here.
