Now, I am all for punishing Johns but read the fine print, If a person is arrested they are given the choice to plead guilty and keep their car, or plead not guilty and LOSE THEIR CAR until they are found not guilty. I cannot believe this was passed...I think that, although Johns deserve a more severe punishment, confiscating a person's car even though they have not been found guilty by a court is ridiculous. It may force some people to plead guilty even though they are innocent (the punishment would only be courses and some community work which some may find better than losing their car and possibly a court case). There is a clause that states a car will not be taken if it would negatively affect a family’s income but still, the government has no right to "bribe" or in my view threaten a person into pleading guilty to a crime they may not have committed. I used to live in a high prostitution area and the hookers would walk right up to my car and talk to me when I pulled over to park. If a cop thought I was talking to her to buy sex, they could take my car without trial!

Thoughts?

I think prostitution should be taxed and legalized.

I agree. I'd also like to see prostitutes be required to take regular tests for HIV and other STDs.

It's kind of funny how Republicans say the are in favor of less government, but want to tell everyone how to live their lives.

Republicans have presided over the biggest expansion of government in the last 50 years.

They have also jacked up spending, which along with the tax cuts for the rich, have pushed our economy from one of the biggest surpluses we've had to the biggest defecit we've had in history (in absolute dollars).

Big-government, (cut) -tax and spend Republicans...

whatever surreal whatever

I would love to see prostitution taxed and legalized. I have no problem with contact-by-phone escorts that go "above and beyond the call of duty" but the street prostitutes can really destroy a perfectly good neighborhood (I have seen it happen first hand) and should be removed.
