Yet a third burlyman from the original Predator is getting into politics.

Sonny Landham carved out a tough-guy reputation in a series of big-screen roles, from roughing up Sylvester Stallone to getting tossed out a window by Carl Weathers.
Former actor Sonny Landham is hoping his next role will be in the Senate.

He pulls no punches in his newest role: Libertarian challenger to a man known for political toughness, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

For those who don't remember, Landham played Billy--the token Amerind commando, who stayed to fight the Predator alone.

This actually isn't Landham's first brush with politics; he considered running in 2003, but dropped his bid to support Ernie Fletcher of the GOP.

Please don't use "NEWS: " prefixes on threads. The "NEWS:" prefix is used to denote stories edited by SG and posted to the SG Newswire. I've edited your topic title to get rid of it.

On topic: Landham might be able to carve a little chunk out of McConnell's lead over Lunsford. That would be swell.

I hope he loses. I have nothing against Mr Landham, as such; but if he wins, there will be years and years of Predator-referencing headlines, instead of actual journalism.

Great... Just what we really need. Another Hollywood gun-toting meat head for office. whatever (Generally speaking, I don't have a major problem with gun owners or muscle bound body builders, it's just when you mix them together you often get a bizarre and confused blend of macho man style politics, one I'd rather do without.) Still, he's got every right to run and it's not as if he could possibly make US politics look any more embarrassing then it already is. But if he hurts the GOP's chances in Kentucky, then I say go for it!

Just don't tell it's citizens or the KKK-lite Council Of Conservative Citizens, whom he is a member of, that his "action" film debut wasn't exactly family fare. You might be interested to note he was a porn star in the 70's before he finally made the big time in the 1979 cult classic The Warriors.
