I wasn't sure if this was the category to post this, but the Current Events board did describe social issues as one of the many subject matters this board deals with so I think it's right, if not please direct me to the right place. Thank you.

Definitely not for the CE board. You might try hanging out in Silliness for a while. You might fit in a little better.

If you're really, super-awesome, you'll even get your own appreciation thread.

While I understand what you were trying to do here, I think you should have written a piece about it discussing the issue and offered the vid along with other evidence as part of a wider discussion about race in America.

It was I think poor post planning really, not spam, nor sillyness or an attention grab.

For me this video wasn't about race at all. She's addressing black people and, in her opinion, how htey've been robbed of their race, religion, culture, etc. She equates "the masses" to canned, processed green beans and states the fresh, more organic and natural green beans are better and more authentic. The question I posed to the board was simple, are you fresh (unique and original) or canned (some pre-conceived notion or archetype that's been packaged and sold to you).

Duly noted Cash. As rudimentary as the concept is, I think you still could've answered the question posed, but since only the most advanced posts merit your response I understand. Sometimes something so simple is completely overlooked and there are many "canned green beans" in the world.

Well then define what is fresh and what is canned? Your asking people here a question that can only be answered as a persons opinion and for what purpose. I honestly thought you were trying to open up a dialog about race in America and just made the original post poorly.

This does belong elsewhere, but I have no idea where that is.
