WASHINGTON (AP) _ Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House.

The Superdelegates are pouring in today. Obama will have this wrapped up tonight. (Although, I don't know what that means, because he has had it wrapped up for months)

Is it dead? Is the Clinton monster finally dead? Or will it rise up one more time to wreak havoc on the poor, unsuspecting townsfolk of America?

Former President Carter says he'll endorse Democrat Barack Obama after the polls close on the final primaries.

Carter told The Associated Press on Tuesday: "The fact is the Obama people already know they have my vote when the polls close tonight." Carter spoke to the AP after addressing the Georgia World Congress Center

The AP was a bit premature, counting delegates that hadn't been awarded yet and endorsements that hadn't been announced, but the end is imminent.

13 more superdelegates so far today.

He needs somewhere between 18.5 and 27.5 now.

His campaign email states he needs 29, though it was sent earlier this afternoon. If for some reason he does not win SD then there is a glitch with Clinton accepting defeat, once and for all. The thing is, her husband senses it is over, yet, she doesn't seem to take the hint.

I used to like her , but she signed the agreement not to let the delegates be counted, then reneged on it. So what else would she go back on once she signed or agreed to it.

Anyway, where do you watch his speech tonight? The campaign email just gave a time the polls closed.

The 27.5 is his campaign's latest tally, but there were tallies elsewhere that had him at 31.5 this morning before he got the 13 endorsements.

A whole bunch more endorsements just came in (including at least one Clinton defection). It's down to 12 delegates remaining.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but MSNBC's popular vote count has Clinton ahead by about three-thousand votes, not counting Michigan. Where are they getting those numbers?

Not sure where those are coming from , but I heard one of the ways she's saying she has more votes is not counting certain caucus states . And not giving him any from Michigan .
That whole Michigan / Florida thing is the main reason I'm against her winning anything ever again . " I'll go along with the agreement , as long as I'm winning " . Bullshit . They have pretty much ruined any good memories I ever had of the Clinton years with this one race .

Obama's campaign says 9, but they've been slow to update. I'm thinking they're a little busy at the moment.

CNN says 4 and i'm going by the lowest number to celebrate the soonest.

After that, i will tune into the next lowest number and celebrate that. this will continue as I celebrate the night away.
