Woot!

The lastest GALLUP poll indicates that Hillary Clinton is finally making up ground against Obama.

Gallup Poll Daily tracking shows that Hillary Clinton now receives 46% of the support of Democrats nationally, compared to 45% for Barack Obama, marking the first time Obama has not led in Gallup's daily tracking since March 18-20.

These results are based on interviewing conducted April 16-18, including two days of interviewing after the contentious Wednesday night debate in Philadelphia and the media focus that followed. Support for Hillary Clinton has been significantly higher in both of these post-debate nights of interviewing than in recent weeks. The two Democratic candidates are now engaged in intensive campaigning leading up to Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary and are under a continual and hot media spotlight, increasing the chances for change in the views of Democrats in the days ahead.

Why the hell should I care? If I had any feelings about McCain, I'd want the weaker candidate to face him, but I just don't trust the man. Besides - trying to work out who's the shittest out of Hillary & Obama is like struggling with a Gordian Knot.

Ordinary Liberals are benign. When they're young, they take up every worthy cause and march on any protest that will get them laid, but you sort of expect that and nobody who matters listens to them anyway.

Some teenage idealists will ignore the harsh realities of life and actually remain Liberals - even into their 40's & 50's. But again, they are benign souls. They're like your work colleague who's 45 years old, still a virgin and lives with his mum. Somethings gone wrong with them. You don't feel angry about their radical spoutings, you just feel a bit sorry for them.

Careerist Liberals are another matter. Whilst there's a definite air of dull tragedy about ordinary middle aged Libs, their counterparts in the political arena have an air of Doctor Evil about them. These are people who see professional Liberalism as a path to money, power and control.

Both Hillary and Obama have used their liberalism to make bundles of cash and seek the power to impose the layers of government that will complete their control trip.

If I had to choose, I'd go for Hillary. Too many evil people are backing Obama. Hillary, whilst evidently as corrupt as fuck, is at least an open book and unapologetically hawkish (a sort of necessary characteristic for a president of a nation at war). I get the impression that Obama's international problem-solving ethos would be as criminally dangerous and terminally stupid as Jimmy Carter's current Middle East insult to humanity.

Also, I have to consider the fun I've had watching Hillary & Obama tearing each other new assholes. Long may that go on. Watching Obama flounder under the weight of REAL questions from ABC was a nice break from the kid gloves that are usually used on the "Messiah". McCain has hardly had to open his mouth - not that he would, the soft shite.

If Hillary does snatch the nomination, the discontent in Democrat ranks at nutroots level will be terminal. Something these GALLUP polls haven't seemingly factored in, are the grumpy crossover votes that Hillary & Obama fanatics will cast for McCain, just to screw over the other guy.

I only wish the current pantomime would last for another year. This is such fun.

Ordinary Conservatives are benign. When they're young, they take up every unworthy cause and attend every convention that will make them money, but you sort of expect that and nobody with common sense listens to them anyway.

Some teenage capitalists will ignore the harsh realities of life and actually remain Conservatives - even into their 40's & 50's. But again, they are benign souls. They're like your work colleague who's 45 years old, still a virgin and lives with his mum. Somethings gone wrong with them. You don't feel angry about their moronical spoutings, you just feel a bit sorry for them.

Careerist Conservatives are another matter. Whilst there's a definite air of dull tragedy about ordinary middle aged Cons, their counterparts in the political arena have an air of Doctor Evil about them. These are people who see professional Conservativism as a path to money, power and control.

Yeah, but you resented that UpTight because he made you laugh at yourself and your values.

With this new, cut price uptight-lite, you never have to worry about missing a funny post and if you do happen skim read, you aren't threatened by any humour-inspired introspection.

Make the most of it.

Eventually I may start giving a crap, again.

Oh well - there's still the convention and I'd bet a pound to a penny that Hillary has a few Hooveresque files on the wavering superdelegates.

If only this charade can stretch until the convention, we'll have something that will make wrestling tournaments look like Merchant Ivory productions.

So Conservatives are like tom cats who think they own the place and waltz around spraying their stink all over everything, whilst Liberals are gentler, friendlier and always there for you when you've had a bad day and you just need someone to treat you like a human being?

I guess that is a worthy analogy.

I like how all these accusations of ineffectiveness and lack of balls are coming from someone whose most significant contribution to the political process involves trolling an alt-porn website's message boards and periodically running away crying.

No, there are daisys coming out of the green mum's arse. Unless she came back as a zombie. Which may happen. All that gin probably preserved her fairly well.

Totally not ironic at all coming from a person whose avatar advocates someone be imprisoned for engaging in perfectly legal political activities that you happen to disagree with.

If Clinton were the popular candidate here, Uptight would be posting "Go, Barack . . . Go Barack."

This isn't going to change anyone's mind. And I don't know what you think is so

criminally dangerous and terminally stupid

about trying to bring waring sides to some sort of negotations, and treating both sides as having viable claims instead of just chosing one and bullheadedly pushing ahead, no matter what.

Oh, wait. I see what you did there. You're just trying to annoy people, for no real reason beyond some sort of mental masturbation you have going on. Well, just remember, when you're done . . .

go wash your hands!!!

Oh but wait.

http://www.newsweek.com/id/132721?from=rss

The survey of 1,209 registered voters found that Obama now leads Clinton by nearly 20 points, or 54 percent to 35 percent, among registered Democrats and those who lean Democratic nationwide. The previous Newsweek poll, conducted in March after Clinton's big primary wins in Ohio and Texas, showed the two Democrats locked in a statistical tie (45 percent for Obama to 44 percent for Clinton). The new poll puts Obama ahead among women as well as men, and voters aged 60 and older as well as younger voters. (For the complete poll data, click here).
