Barack Obama - Jedi Master

This video was made by a guy at the local paper (Raleigh News and Observer). Humor always has a bit of truth in it but I did not enjoy the truth/humor in this one. I saw the truth not in Obama's flaws but rather in an electorate around me in NC that has been used to ignoring truth and going for the kitchen sink emotion bit. I asked voters in 2000 and 2004 why they voted for Bush. I could not get an answer not given to them by a Republican talking point.

What bothered me most about the video was that it was on the website of my local newspaper (where I go for news not comment), mentions 'Barry', drug use, Rezko, Wright, and seems to be ready to add anything else anyone can think of. This is the sort of thing the Republicans love to forward (and I get some of them).

But you know what is so funny about this? I really believe he has a power of speech that will overcome a lot of these doubts, if he is given the chance to speak. Not to remove them from the conversation but that he will more likely say the correct and sincere thing without resorting to polling and triangulation. We will see how NC goes in the Primary. It would be great to pick it up for the Dems in the fall but living here I know it won't happen.

But once this is a one front war and the choice is McCain vs Obama, I think I could get optimistic. Hillary is not a bad choice so it is harder when it is Obama-Hillary-McCain. McCain has his own weaknesses that would make a great video in and of themselves (sticking to true problems).

I didn't realize Darth Cheney's affiliation wasn't publicly known. They don't all require respirators, you know.
