Yup, it's officially primary season.

Democrat Dennis Kucinich, who won less than 2 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, said Thursday he wants a recount to ensure that all ballots in his party's contest were counted. The Ohio congressman cited "serious and credible reports, allegations and rumors" about the integrity of Tuesday results.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan said Kucinich is entitled to a statewide recount. But, under New Hampshire law, Kucinich will have to pay for it.

Well, if he he thinks he has good reason to think there were shenanigans, he might just care about getting the truth out, and not necessarily about improving his percentage. Or he could have snapped and thinks he should have won.

I imagine it's the former; he seems too smart to think he could've won. I guess I'm too much of a realist and too little an idealist. I suck.

The reason he is asking for a recount is because the areas in which Diebold machines counted the votes, Hillary won desicevely. In the places where ballots were counted by hand, Obama won.

This shit needs to stop now, so, I'm all for it. There should be a recount in every fucking state.

If that's true, then more power to him. Is there similar discrepancy in the Republican vote? It could after all be a coincidence.

No. It is only on the Democratic side.

Paultards want a recount because they believe he should've gotten third. But here's the best part, they won't request a recount because they think it would hurt his campaign.

As if anything he does or doesn't do will change the outcome of this campaign.

Ah, Diebold. I was wondering when fun little 'voting anomalies' like this would rear their ugly heads again. It's definately voting season again.

Diebold Machines blow.

The only smart thing NY State Government has done in quite some time was their rejection of paperless voting machines.

This is exactly why I do not think she won.

Listening to NPR this morning, On Point reported that while there appeared to be a discrepancy at first glance, that a mathematician had kind of blown the idea out of the water. Evidently, the discrepancy was around 1%, and not statistically significant.

Listen to the podcast, if you like. It was the first half of the show, and pretty informative.

I would have like Obama to have won, but I guess I am happy that the system is honest for now.

I support all re-counts... in the realm of business it's just known as "due diligence." I do find it interesting that there seems to be an almost knee-jerk opposition to the re-count process since the contesting of votes (by county) following the 2000 Presidential election.

Better twice-measured than once-wrong, no?

Does NPR support Hillary or Obama for president?

It's a valid question you may want to ask.

I agree. Recounts should be a standard part of the process.
