"I'm Rudy Giuliani and and I approved this corpse raping fear mongering hearsay." You'd think once...well everyone who lives in New York and 99% of the rest of the country except my dad and his campaign staff...called him out on not only benefiting personally but profiting financially from 9/11 he would have stopped trying to use it as a legitimate platform.

I think Blackwell should get together with other wrongly convicted individuals who are now being charged board and give 'em what for. Pooling resources is definitely a good idea in this situation since, well, it sounds like there are plenty of folks being wrongfully charged.

I love what Grayon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair, says in the January issue

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: one second before that first plane flew into the World Trade Center tower, Giuliani was one of the most disliked mayors in New York history. Grasping, petty, and vengeful, he was the sort of politician who runs for higher office not so much because he can then reward those who helped him along, but because he can then punish those who didn't.

It could reasonably be said that Giuliani shone on 9/11 and during its aftermath. And he's been shining that 9/11 badge ever since. Indeed, with the possible exception of Osama bin Laden, nobody has cashed in more on that fateful day.

Full Vanity Fair letter from editor

and vanity feature article on How crazy Guiliani is if you are not convinced

I sure did love him on SNL in drag though. ANd add some over-whitened teeth to this and what do you have?? > skull

FTR honey, you left the butter out again...

Damn, after seeing that, I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Giuliani is probably the equivalent of rolling Rambo, John McClane, McBain & any other action hero there ever was, only he's more suave.

And also...

Why won't Rudy just go away? Even the joke candidate beat him!

Britain has a lot we can learn from: socialized medicine springs to mind. But the idea of having an entire branch of government that is hereditary is idiotic. I don't know why any of the various Labour governments hasn't banned the HoLs altogether.

It's not entirely hereditary, but the main thing, I think, is that it is entirely unelected. And there are Bishops in there. I mean, seriously. And that's without even mentioning the police investigations into whether honours were given in exchange for donations to political parties.

To be fair, the current government has been making noises about reforming the House of Lords and making it at least partially elected, but we're still waiting.

I can never get my head round the justification for taking back money given in compensation to people in these wrongful conviction cases. In the Bridgewater case, the court of appeal said that the two men would have had to pay for food and accomodation if they had been in the outside world. Which is true, of course, but also misses the point slightly.

And what about those fun folks in Kenya? They sure can throw a party! How did they escape the asshat roundup of the week?

You know what I imagine Ridley isn't guilty of? Being a complete idiot.

I 'll be honest...to be fair... I didn't read the whole article, although I'm 90% sure it's trite.

I like it. You attack me. Rather pathetically, I might ad. Then you follow up with a completely off topic You Tube video of the biggest fool in the country right now to..what? Prove your intellect? Sort of undermines, literally, anything you did or will say in the future.

Also, you should check in on the Michael Moore thread because yesterday it was bumped and picked out as the most idiot of the year. One of your posts was actually selected as maybe the dumbest post of the year by a few members.

Congrats. That's a big honor.

I don't think that's the movie voice-over guy, but it's certainly that type of voice. Pretty lame advertisement. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised that Rudy approved that piece of crap.

It's like a tutorial on how to troll. Incoherent, off topic, admits to not reading the article, personal jabs, myspace-esque spelling, and finish it off with an un-needed youtube clip. About all it is missing is a quote from an non-credible source and a list of "dont' read what I wrote, read what I meant" complaints.

I feel like I should be taking notes.
