Ah, yes, I just called the golden boy a religious lunatic. That is the term I apply to people in this day and age who do not believe in evolution and are against abortion. I can actually understand how someone can be against abortion and I dont label those people lunatics but when it comes to not believing in evolution, youre a nutter.
Well, there he was in all his glory, proudly declaring that he does not believe in the theory of evolution. But ignore all that because he wants to stop the Iraq War and bring out troops home. He wants to kill the IRS and let you roll around in your money. That sounds exciting, doesnt it? Oh, and lets not forget about the evil Federal Reserve. Hes going to do away with that all by himself, without the aid of Congress. Good luck.
Focus on all of those things. Do not pay attention to the fact that he DOES NOT BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION. Or what he considers to be the greatest moral issue of our time.
As an obstetrician who has delivered over 4000 children, I have long been concerned with the rights of unborn people. I believe this is the greatest moral issue of our time.
Strange, I dont hear his cult yammering on about his abortion stance. Maybe they are so awed by his brilliance that they are ashamed to talk about it, so I will do so for them.
Ron Paul actually has the courage to compare the horrors of Nazis with abortion.
Unlike Nazi Germany, which forcibly sent millions to the gas chambers (as well as forcing abortion and sterilization upon many more), the new regime has enlisted the assistance of millions of people to act as its agents in carrying out a program of mass murder.
This might be the point where you liberals who support Paul should stand up and explain your asinine decision. The one thing anti-abortion activists all have in common is their sneaky attempts to undermine Roe vs. Wade. Whether using drunk driving cases in which a fetus was killed, or attempting to pass Human Life Amendments at the state level, or trying to pass laws that allow pharmacists to decline giving out the morning after pill, they rarely come at the issue head on. Ron Paul is no exception.
Pro-life libertarians have a vital task to perform: to persuade the many abortion-supporting libertarians of the contradiction between abortion and individual liberty; and, to sever the mistaken connection in many minds between individual freedom and the "right" to extinguish individual life.
Uh huh. And Ron Paul uses his state rights bullshit to push his religious lunacy on the public. What he is and all he has ever been is another religious fanatic who is attempting to force us to live his way of life. A man doesnt write two books on stopping abortion if it is not one of the driving forces of his life. Check out 1983's Abortion and Liberty and 1990's Challenge to Liberty: Coming to Grips with the Abortion Issue.
As of late, he has tempered his rhetoric a bit because he doesnt want to drive away his college minions. But earlier this year, Paul was spewing his anti-abortion glory.
This is a practical, direct approach to ending Federal court tyranny, which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn.
Well, if someone read me that sentence and asked who wrote it I would have said Huckabee or Pat Robertson. But it is none other the next hero of our country, Ron Paul.
Quite a few liberals are getting swept up in this lunatics anti-war talk without knowing much of his religious politics. But his stance against the Iraq War is not liberal, it is classic conservatism in the form of old fashioned isolationism. He just stands out because the Republicans have murdered classic conservatives. When it comes to the abortion issue, the only difference between Paul and his fellow religious nuts like Huckabee is the path to banning abortion. Huckabee wants a federal law making abortion illegal, Paul wants to do it one community at a time. Either way, hes a nutter who believes that human beings are created at conception and doesnt believe in that crazy theory of evolution.
Right on. I cannot stand any more of these Paulies calling me a commie because I don't think my goverment should be dismantled. And denying evolution should disqualify you from the human race, not to mention a presidential election.
In all seriousness, though, the only reason anyone can look at what his "big ideas" are and not laugh at him is that they never paid attention in history class. Sure, they might know history, but they lack the critical thinking skills to apply the context to those events to see that those ideas don't work.
I like a lot of his policies, I won't deny that. but I admit I didn't finish reading everything that was linked from this article before replying.
still, I don't think that video, which seems to be missing a section in which he appeared to be about to clarify a point, clearly illustrates his "religious fanaticism." nor do I think that not believing in evolution or believing that abortion is wrong makes anyone a nutcase, regardless of what I may or may not believe, myself.
And, I believe he is trying to explain that while he may not believe in evolution that it is an inappropriate question for the President?
So, regardless if religion is a vital part of this man... at least he realizes religion isn't a part of his political surge. I feel less threatened by this man's religion than I do Romney or Huckabee.
Just a thought since the majority of members on this site are anti-Ron Paul

since I genuinely DIDN'T pay attention in history class, would you mind giving an example or two? I see a lot of Paul hate on this forum, but I don't often see anything substantial. just a lot of photoshop macros and "he's a looney! look and see how looney he is!"
specifically, as long as we're talking about it, I've always interpreted his stance on abortion as personally against with a strong belief that the final legislative decision should belong to the state and not the federal government. which on the face of it seems positive to me. so what am I missing?

wow. apparently im a religious looney as well cuz i think the theory of evolution is shit. and yea, your kinda a dick. i love how you can, without knowing a person personally, call them a religious fanatic. so thats me i suppose.
maybe you should think before you write.
since i dont go around call YOU a nut for believeing in evolution. thats your belief. but apparently your too immature for that sort of thinking...

If you believe the right to choice is a right, a state shouldn't be allowed to override it. Not complicated.
I'm also guessing you missed where he compared abortion to mass murder.

you're right about that, and thank you. I agree. but I do see where it might be complicated for people who believe that abortion is impinging on the human rights of the unborn and how that might be a matter for the courts to decide... and better at the state level than at the federal where it affects everyone in one sweep.
still, that's important to consider. so again, thank you.

Look here, for one. Face it, if you actually read between the lines and saw past his "good intentions," you'll realize he's fruitier and nuttier than chimp shit.
Are you serious are we all still so attached to evolution? It just can't exist. Life cannot be simplified. If a single celled organism evolved into an animal, it would have to start as a fully formed animal. It can't evolve the lungs now the heart later, and so on. It goes multi celled organism straight to an animal. Fossil records don't show any creature that connects one animal to another. We should see thousands and thousands of evolving animals that show the long process of one animal becoming another. Nobody has ever observed any macro evolution. Not to mention all the evidence that points at our earth being so much younger then evolution needs to take place like fresh unfossilized dinosaur bones

In the case of a presidential election, or an election of any person(s) into a position of power, it is my opinion that a disbelief in Evolution is a discredit to the runner, not as a religious choice, but as a selective ignorance.
All "religious nuttery" aside, someone being presented on multiple occasions with plentitudes of evidence, yet still disreguarding the idea at hand has raised a red flag, stating that during their stint in office, the likelyhood of them repeating that discourse on other matters is quite high.
Everyone deserves a representative who will weigh every option and every bit of evidence in every matter, not just what they find to be pertinent.
I'm not even going to get into the abortion thing . . .the issue is inevitably going to be clouded with personal opinions and attacks anyway.
If you believe the right to choice is a right, a state shouldn't be allowed to override it. Not complicated.
Correct. You have all the rights you could possibly have when you are born. Government then picks and chooses which ones it will honor as your right.
We should really get some politicians who don't view rights as gifts that are given to people by the government. The right to do what we want with our bodies (drugs, have abortions), the right to bear arms, etc
i like ron paul because he's actually talking about new ideas to change our country and i agree with a lot of them. he's not spitting out a bunch of bullshit that people want to hear about 9/11 and gay rights. i am in no way religious and i am pro choice but this is a christian country and any of the canidates are going to be religious fanatics as far as i'm concerned. at least someone is out there bringing to light the problems in america and wanting to fix them. he may not accomplish his goals but it's a start.

You didn't pay much attention in biology, did you? Either that, or it was just way easier to accept that drivel you just posted.

That reference seems a little bit biased.
I could be wrong, but. . . . . .
There's no way a site which contains articles like "How did dinosaurs grow so big? And how did Noah fit them on the Ark?" could contain bias in any way, shape or form.

A history example. Ok, here's one. The Civil War. It was not fought over slavery, as many think. It was fought between those who thought states should have the right to seceed from the union versus those who thought the Federal Gov't should have the right to keep the country together. Essentially, it was a war to decide whose rights are more powerful: State or Federal.
The way I see it, Ron Paul is trying to undo the Civil War. I know that is an oversimplification, but it is how I see it. And if States' Rights superseed (spelling?) Federal Rights, what is to stop some state from deciding that women can't vote, or removing anti-hate crime laws?
Anyone want to add to this, clarify this, or fix this, feel free. I don't have my old high school history book anymore.
