I thought this was incredibly interesting. This is an interview with Ron Paul in which FINALLY somebody spoke in length with him concerning the Federal Reserve. I know this board, for the most part, does not dig Ron Paul. However, I have never heard of the guy interviewing him up until now, and I would love to know what everyone's thoughts are.

The more I research economy and the Federal Reserve, the more it seems like common sense to get rid of the damn thing, or invoke more scrutiny or come to some new solution. Either way, here is the whole shindig --

Here are some other things that go along with it:

All in all, the guy (Kramer), is INCREDIBLY fun to watch, just because he yells so goddamned much hah hah.

See folks, this is why you leave the Ron Paul articles to us semi-professionals.

I just include it real brief on the posts there, nowhere else.

I read those two articles. I was wondering if you might have something to add concerning the interview with the crazy ape-shit guy.

This is probably one of the only times though that Ron Paul is almost completely right.

The fed does work without much oversight at all, and keeps their minutes secret. More transparency couldn't hurt at all

Seriously now.

Thanks, spaz. It's really fantastic that you say this and then agree with this. . .

More transparency would be nice but it's possible that it could hurt. I'm not saying I agree with the secrecy but seriously, and I understand the arguments that'll arise from this (though I'll probably be asleep if/when they do) would you go telling the state of your finances to some Joe Schmuck? How about telling them to the world (granted, the majority could probably care less about one person's financial affairs unless you happen to be some unequivocal multi-billionaire)?

Oh and. . .

Ron Paul's views on the Federal Reserve, and U.S. monetary policy, extend WAY beyond simply making the workings of the Fed more transparent, what with his whole "abolish the Fed and go back to the gold standard" nonsense.
