Why does it have to be "shocking male attitude towards women?" Why not "This asshole who was a sexist moron and insulted my friend?"

Because the second title would give the game away and no one would be curious about the content... biggrin

my only problem with this is that every "gay" or "lesbian" person who has turned someone i know down for a date, or broken up with them, has been lying. they have dated primarily or exclusively people of the opposite sex before, and they go on to do it again. to say that you're gay is a very safe position in a break-up or a rejection, because it isn't anyone's fault - it's just a state of being that it won't work for you to be together. people who use this excuse fuck it up for those who really are gay. i wouldn't be surprised if the guy was mad because he thought she was actually straight, not because all girls are by nature straight, but because it's such a convenient-sounding rejection.

anyway. that's just biased because of my own personal experience. but people who lie about their sexuality devalue that particular orientation for stupid people in the rest of society. and it sucks.

Now that's an interesting point, Mei.

Men, become financially independent, make money and stop debasing yourselves for sex. When you no longer scamper for what women have you will feel extremely liberated.

If my only choices are money and sex, I'm quitting. I don't think you're giving enough credit to women or men.

And Spike, I gotta believe this guy talking to your friend was just a drunken ass. I'd even like to think that when he sobered up, he realized what he had said and was horribly ashamed of himself.

"When you no longer scamper for what women have you will feel extremely liberated."

I can't even believe this was said. Obviously sex is something women have and men want; women just use sex to get material possessions out of men. Everyone knows women don't experience sexual pleasure. I want to kill someone now.

Thanks, Al, I was about to point that out. And he still hasn't explained why he thinks "the average woman" expects to "have her life subsidized by a man". Or why male power is a myth (yes, I've read the book, I thought it was poorly written and inane.

And being able to withhold or give sex isn't power, because that "power" doesn't involve any respect and it is gone the second a woman steps out of, in any way, what is considered conventionally attractive. If she gets older, if she gets some wrinkles, if her breasts start to sag, if she gains a couple pounds, all of that "power" disappears.

I'm afraid to report that not only was he quite sober, but ran into my friend again last night and decided to give a repeat performance. Apparently lesbians are "disgusting and should be shot" and if my friend was ever to have childred "they'd be fucked up for life for having two mums."mad
This guy's in for a serious ass-whooping...

Spike, would you have any moral objections to me finding that guy and forcing him to tie his tubes? He shouldn't be allowed to breed.

No objections at all, Morgan, although if I see this guy, I'm going to give him such a kick in the balls, the vasectomy might resemble a tonsilectomywink

Ok you mean to tell me you don't think men try to get laid more then women? You know, ask women out? Make the first move, push it a little further.... And you want to tell me women are the ones taking men on dates and buying drinks? Come on. You can't believe what you just said. Oh and now you want to take away mens reproductive abilty because while drunk they said something rude? And you want to physically hurt them, for uttering a rude comment? Hmmm this is very unlike your attitudes towards women and their reproductive freedom. And how do you feel about women being phsically abused for ANY reason. Yes I'm sure I don't care for your sexist attitudes.

Oh and the sexual liberation I speak of has nothing to do with getting attractive girls. It has more to do with just not trying to get laid, have it not be the priority that it is for so many men. Look I run a decent business, have a degree, am a Marine vet-who was even wounded very badly for this country-and still walk in pain six years later, I raise a twelve year old son-who was not an accident or result of being irresponsible-I adopted him after my junkie mother went to prison for the millionth time, I own a home, I cook, I clean, I do everything. Sex is very low on my list of things that matter to me, especially just trying to get laid. If I meet someone special-great. But if not, and I don't get laid, oh well life gos on just fine, and I feel good. A lot of men don't feel this way. They derive self esteem from knowing someone they desire-if only briefly and superficially-will choose to sleep with them, because then as they see it they must be a good person worth sleeping with.

JUST BECAUSE MEN TRY TO GET LAID MORE THAN WOMEN DOESN'T MEAN THEY HAVE TO GO ABOUT IT IN A DESPERATE AND DISGUSTING MANNER. IF THEY DO, THAT'S THEIR FUCKING PROBLEM, NOT THE PROBLEM OF WOMEN.

Hmm. OK.

I confess I didn't read the threat title as implying any universality, as though it applied to us all. So to me, picking one title over another would just be splitting hairs. But that's my reading of it, and maybe others had different impressions. smile

Oh please, if it were a woman who was saying lesbians were disgusting and yelling at her, I would have said something very similar about making sure she didn't reproduce.

And yeah, what Al said.

I don't find it shocking that people think like that more like disgusting attitudes. crap like this guy think their entitled to women. when will anyone understand that lesbians are not for entertainment only or need a guy to make them change teams.

blah, blah, women want money from men, men want sex from women, etc., so forth....

there are shitty women who use sex as leverage. there are shitty men who have shitty attitudes towards women. it's a fact of life. most PEOPLE, regardless of gender, are assholes.

there are a couple of guys posting to this thread who obviously have had some bad interactions with some women who must have been real bitches. nobody can blame them for being angry, but seriously, not all women are like that, just like not all men are sexist assholes.

just personally, i'm the main breadwinner in my household. my guy's a happy gigolo/musician....i'm happy to pay the rent so he can focus on creating awesome things. later on, when he's a rock star, i'll let him pay for a while tongue

I believe, women enjoy sex more (when done properly), it's just that men talk about it more. Men get arroused more quickly, but wane just as fast.
Some women enjoy lesbian sex more because their female partner is more in tune with their body than one of those 'macho insensitive' male types. I understand and accept that, it makes me want to understand the female gender better, so that I am able to pleasure her more.
Proper sex is not about getting; it's about sharing.
I get incredibly turned on by lesbian and bi women. All of the women I have been attracted to in the last couple of years turned out to be bi or lesbians. It's no surprise to me then, that my relationships don't last and are few and far between.
I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I think the total lack of inhibition of lesian sex just does something strange to my body chemistry. I should have been born a woman. Damn.

PS: Oh, yeah that guy mentioned at the start of this thread is a total loser and is probably total flop in bed.

The problem with this thread is that is has reducedthe relationship between men and women to the sexual level. If men and women reduce each other that way, of course they're going to disrespect one another. And if we view each other only as sexual objects, then men will be offensive, selfish, and manipulative, as will women. The problem with the guy at the beginning of this thread is that he didn't really see her as a woman, he saw her as an outlet for his own sexual desire. Does this make any sense at all?
