This is a big week for idiots. They are doing their best to make us aware of something that does not exist: Islamofascism. It would be kind of like having a Headless Horseman Awareness Week, or a Bogeyman Awareness Week. So, get out your favorite anti-Islamofascist costumes, because October 22-26 we are getting very fucking aware!

During the week of October 22-26, 2007, the nation will be rocked by the biggest conservative campus protest ever - Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, a wake-up call for Americans on 200 university and college campuses.

Smell that? It is the sweet smell of idiots trying to think. The main moron behind this pathetic awareness week is David Horowitz. Apparently Davey had some conversations with students from different university campuses who were "concerned" how little their fellow students knew about the murderous monsters of the Middle East. The students were also worried about the"unholy alliance" between campus leftists and jihadists "seeking to undermine the War on Terror."

Admittedly the "unholy alliance" is a huge problem. You can't swing a dead ocelot on campus these days without hitting a jihadist and a liberal who are holding hands. Thankfully, The Horo stepped up and is doing what he can to make us aware of this pressing danger.

The events sound pretty awesome and make me wish I were in college again. I do miss having protests against things that aren't real. (I was president of the Chupacabra Awareness Group for one semester) Check out the festivities.

Memorial services for the victims of Islamic Terror both in America and around the globe.

A Student petition denouncing Islamo-Fascist violence against women, gays, Christians, Jews and non-religious people.

A Teach-In on "The Oppression of Women in Islam."

Sit-ins in Women's Studies Departments and campus Women's Centers to protest their silence about the oppression of women in Islam.

Prominent speakers against Islamo-Fascism such as Ayan Hirsi Ali, Mark Steyn, David Horowitz, Nonie Darwish, Christina Hoff Sommers, Phyllis Chesler, Frank Gaffney and Daniel Pipes.

Documentary films about the Islamo-Fascist crusade against America, Israel and the West.

Distribution of materials on Islamo-Fascism including the pamphlets The Oppression of Women in Islam, The Islamic Mein Kampf, Why Israel is the Victim, Jimmy Carter's War Against the Jews, and What Every American Needs to Know About Jihad.

How great is it that they managed to get David Horowitz to speak? Someone must have had to make a lot of phone calls. I also wonder how many of the right wing kids who are going to partake in the sit-in at the Women's Studies Department are anti-abortion and against an ERA amendment.

The events should be fun, even though there is no such thing as an Islamofascism, according to Juan Cole of the University of Michigan.

Fascism is not even a very good description of the ideology of most Muslim fundamentalists. Most fascism in the Middle East has been secular in character, as with Saddam Hussein's Baath Party. Fascism involves extreme nationalism and most often racism. Muslim fundamentalist movements reject the nation-state as their primary loyalty and reject race as a basis for political action or social discrimination. Fascists exalt the state above individual rights or the rule of law. Muslim fundamentalists exalt Islamic law above the utilitarian interests of the state. Fascism exalts youth and a master race above the old and the "inferior" races. Muslim fundamentalists would never speak this way.

But it sounds awesome! So, fuck off Mr. Lefty Professor. Go buy another tweed blazer with patches on the elbows. I'll take the word of one time super Senator Rick Santorum over you any day of the week. Or these exact days.

Santorum is due to speak at Penn State University Tuesday at 8 p.m., the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and at Temple University on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

If Santorum is involved, you know it's serious! So be there or be a jihadist! Enjoy the shit out of this week America!

Haven't been #1 for years. But hey, I'll take 6 wins in a row after the first two embarrassments. Not where we want to be, obviously, but it could be a heck of a lot worse.

Hey! There is to a Headless Horseman Awareness Week! Well, ok, so it's from the 18th of October to the 1st of November, so it's more than just a week, but still! It's important to educate the populace about him, and about fire safety! The bastard goes around and sets fire to Goldshire, Azure Watch, Brill, Kharanos, Razor Hill, and Silvermoon City, and the people need to be educated on how to help stop the fires and where the more adventurous amongst them can go to vanquish the fiend for a reward! Such as a flying broom! SHHOOOOOM!!!!

*makes wooshing noises*

Actually, you only get a choice between a Comet 260 and a Cleansweep 10 which have been made to not go more than a few feet over the ground, or an unmodified Comet 260 and a Nimbus 2000. Kinda sucks. I mean, the Nimbus is ok, and all, but it's no Firebolt.

I spy a big asshole fuckface award coming up this week for Horowitz and his Brownshirt goonsquads...they tried to nail me a couple years back at one college, yet they had no substantial complaints against me and had no info on my classes. I must have just missed that 101 most dangerous profs list...What dicks...Islamofascism is not even a real word.

I kind of wish some of this ridiculousness was coming to my school. I would go to the events and scream obscenities like "Praise Allah!" and a whole slew of anti-semitic remarks. After the ensuing beating, I'd defend the hell out of Islam, for I know more about Islam than the average non-Muslim white person. I would put these retards to shame for there ignorance. Then I'd go home after the ensuing beating.

Wow, it is amazing that anyone listens to you. You are right in the fact that they do not believe in the nation-state or race as a political motive. That is why it is not called facism, it is Islamo-Fascism where the nation state is replaced by the religion of Islam, and race is replaced by religion. Wow when you put it that way everything you said and took time to write just flew right out the window, huh?

Also the put sex as a political motive. Did you know that before Islam women were equal to men in Arab society. They had businesses and they also had multiple husbands. Oooops bet you didn't know that. Guess it really looks like Islam really does subjegate women.

All you people that want to support Islam, I support you and commend you, but let's remember that these radicals are not pushing pure Islam. They are following radicals that bastardize the religion, just like David Karesh or Jim Jones or polygamist Mormons in northern AZ. Don't support radicals and think that you are supporting the majority of the religion.

Islamo-Fascism is real and if you think that it is not you are fooling yourself. Wake up and smell the coffee. The republicans are too far right and the democrats too far left. You need to take the rhetoric out of what they say and find the middle ground. But the bottom line is as long as we take the fight to them they are not here attacking us on US soil.

So, as long as we an army in Iraq, terrorists can't fly planes. Right. That's why there haven't been any terror plots here since the invasion. Except for, you know, those guys in Jersey.

I seem to recall that Great Britain was in the Coalition of the Willing, too, "fighting them over there" just like us. And the Spanish, as well.

I really don't know how anyone can take that kind of reasoning seriously.

There are no front lines in asymmetric warfare, soldier. If they still aren't teaching you that, it's no wonder we're losing.

Oh, and this?

Is nonsense. I don't know where you're getting it from, but it's not true, and never has been.

And believe me, I'm not interested in supporting Islam. I'm the last person you'll ever find "supporting" any theistic religion. I just like to actually talk about facts.

"Islamo-Fascism" is just a word, a word that was made up to make open-ended imperial warfare more palatable to the American people. It's no more or less accurate than calling them "jerks."

Actually, come to think of it, it's a lot less accurate.

It's like calling Communism "Marxo-Fascism", because you just replace the concept of restoring past cultural glory with an urge to reshape society in a new image, and you replace corporatism with nationalizing the means of production. Wow, it's just so simple!

I agree with you on this, shockingly enough, but using the alarmist buzzword "Islamofascism" is still both laughably reductionist and inaccurate.

What's wrong with simply calling it "radical Islam"?

I believe you just described a Theocratic Dictatorship led by oppressive leaders.. Which is pretty much true, except that the government itself is taking no overt action against us. So it is pretty much an oppressive Theocratic Dictatorship that is the homeland of a relatively small group of radicals who try to kill us.

Islamo-fascism is indeed a made up word with no real meaning, despite that it has been brought out every so often by the far right to scare people into thinking that ALL muslims are evil terrorists. So I say to you, take your own advice and look past the rhetoric to find the truth.

Yes, there are bad people out there, but no, Islamo-fascism is not real. Not all muslims are evil, and not all muslim states are out to kill us.

You all make some very valid points and if you look into Arab history, not Islamic history, you will find I am right. The way Arabs were before they were Islamic is very different from today.

You are right that Islamo-Fascism is a made up word, but then so is every other one. There was no real word to describe what we are fighting. It can't really be truely Theocratic because there is not 1 religious leader ruling the fight. It is not truely Fascism because they do not recognize the nation state. So what else are you supposed to do, you make new word and give it a meaning.

I never said that women had it good in other religions but the last time I checked Christianity or any other religion has never made women cover themselves from head to toe. Some have special clothing that they wear but not with their faces covered. Women around the world have fought long and hard to get in the positions where they are today, but in countries like Iran and other radical Islamic countries they are centuries behind the rest of the world and for what reason. Because religious radicals think that that is the way it should be. Like it was centuries ago. Come on people we are now in the 21st century and the way of life from 500+ years ago doesn't work anymore.

Oh yaa and by the way before the Shah of Iran was kicked out of the country they were a friend and a very progressive country that was very prowest. They had a strong economy and women were Dr's, Teachers, Lawyers and other professional people. The Ayatollah took over and they were all kicked out of their jobs. They economy of the country sufferred, despite all of their oil, poverty skyrocketed and they took steps away from being modern. Keep in mind that most of the money that is in Iraq now supporting the insurgency comes from Iran and Syria. Is that what we want in the Middle East, another Iran or Syria.

We have the opportunity to help create a forward looking and thinking Iraq, but people who think that radical Islam can be lived with are wrong. The entire goal of Iran and Syria is to dominate the region, destroy Israel and take the fight to the rest of the world.

Yes I do believe that the longer we keep them tied up fighting the US Military in Iraq the less likely it is that we will have an attack on our own shores. You are correct there have been other attacks and attempts in Europe, I didn't say it was a perfect system. But does that mean that we should run away and hide our heads in the sand like Spain did. We tried that policy under Clinton and somewhat under Reagan. (Under Reagan we abandoned Lebanon, but I believe we had a Democrat dominated congress at the time.)

As long as we are strong and stand together we can defeat the radicals, but it will take years and a lot of guts. Probably more guts than most americans have.
