This (unemployed) IT consultant used his geek skills to develop miniature cameras with which he collected panty pictures on a small, hand-held camcorder. Apparently he had dreams of striking it rich by selling the footage online.

Not sure why the fact that he's "dreadlocked" really matters here. If he'd had a conservative, traditional haircut, would it have received a mention? Are we supposed to infer that because he's "dreadlocked," he's either black, or a dirty hippie? In any case, what got the perv caught? All his shifty-ass fidgeting.

Love how he just fessed up. "Oh, har har, you caught me--I'm totally filming unknowing womens' gineys, but it's no offense! They don't know I'm doing it, but if they did, they wouldn't mind at all! Here, have a look-see, good footage, eh? Eh!?."

The rocket scientist went on to explain that his voyeurism and filming was “no different from paparazzi photographers” targeting women celebrities revealing underwear as they “climbed in and out of cars."

Right, buddy. No different, except for the fact that women celebrities know they're being photographed, and have the opportunity to keep their gineys covered should they choose to do so. Anyway, he could have just taken a cue from Joe Francis and asked the ladies to show him their crotches. Might have had pretty good luck, that way.

The reason it mattered that he had dreadlocks is that story was written by you mainline, liberal media putting their slant on the story, not just reporting it.

I've always found it funny that when there's a school shooting the first thing the media reports about the shooter is what he's wearing.

I think when people report about these guys it just encourages them... but I guess they are going to do it anyway.

Heh. And while I don't think it's totally irrelevant, it isn't that important, and it's not really very consistant. I guy shot up a school in Montreal a bit over a year ago now. Every article quickly mentioned his mowhawk and black trenchcoat (the latter of which, I think turned out to be false information anyway) but nothing mentioned the fact that he was of South Asian decent.

it's gotta be a clever publicity stunt for his next movie.

I was under the impression that crotch and upskirt shots were not illegal because there is no expectation of privacy when you are out in public. Of course, the United Nanny State of Great Britain and Northern Ireland might be different...

It's not exactly a precisely thought out political piece, I know... It's hard to come up with something to say about a guy (with dreadlocks!) who takes pictures up anonymous skirts. For me anyway. I'm sure there are plenty of other SG members who can come up with some witty and hilarious comment. Until then, I guess you have to put up with me :-/
