I'm lost

We are such a fucked up society that it is amazing. We flip out if children are exposed to sex on TV. Sex is a very natural act, especially the way I do it. Yet, violence is a common everyday occurrence on the tube and hardly a concern is raised. Here's a glaring example: A mother of two won an astounding amount of money yesterday because her two young daughters saw some porn on a hotel television.

A mother who sued an Artesia motel after her two young daughters were exposed to a pornographic film on television was awarded $85,000 by a jury Friday.

Seriously? Edwina McCombs, you are a terrific example of everything that is wrong with America. No, wait, I’m going to say the jury is a terrific example of everything that is wrong with America. You, Edwina, are just a pathetic waste of skin.

Last year, Edwina and her two children, 8 and 9, checked into a Value Lodge in Southern California. She left the kids to watch TV while she went and took a bath.

Uh, what kind of a fucking weirdo takes a bath in a hotel? Especially a cheap hotel like a Value Lodge. Do you know how much hooker juice is probably coated on the tub? And you’re lucky if you get out of there without an athlete’s foot infection on your anus. This leads me to conclude that Edwina is an idiot.

So, while Mommy was soaking in a mix of different folks sperm and blood, the kids started switching channels on the TV. Horror of horrors, they came across a porn channel.

"It was unclear how long they were exposed to it, but they knocked on the bathroom door and said, 'Mommy, something's wrong,' " Krieger said.

Oh, no, something is very right.

Certainly this is an unfortunate incident, but in no way should it lead to a lawsuit. Are we going to say these children were horribly damaged by watching some sweet, sweet fucking? Oh, wait, now they are because of mommy’s reaction. Now they know there is something terribly wrong with sex. They should lead a fruitful and happy life with no issues at all.

The hotel owner actually offered a $50,000 settlement before the trial and Edwina turned it down. Her babies saw fucking! Surely that is worth more! You cannot put a value on their virgin eyes.

The jury at Superior Court in Norwalk awarded McCombs $65,000 in economic damages, which include medical and legal bills, and $20,000 for emotional distress, Krieger said.

Uh, what? Economic damages? From seeing porn? Please explain.

I very much hope those two young girls grow up to desire cock like no other women before. May they need cock inside of them nearly every hour of the day and accept it from any man who happens to be near by. May they have babies in their wombs when they are 15 and several STD’s before 18. It would really make me happy if mommy’s worst fear played out. So, please, God, let these young ladies become the whores their mommy so fears.

They include "medical and legal bills." In other words, she's suing them for expenses that she racks up while suing them. And all those visits to the psychologist more for her than for her kids, who are probably still confused about what the big deal is.

Yeah, that last paragraph was totally over the line. FTR should be waterboarded, sodomized, and beheaded for writing that.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

The prevalent superstition has it that any knowledge whatsoever of sexual matters is inherently harmful to children, and that they must be "protected" from any such knowledge by every means available or imaginable. That idiocy doesn't protect children, if anything it only protects pedophiles. If little Sally knows what it's about, she can blow the whistle on Uncle Harry the first time he puts the moves on her. If she doesn't have a clue, then their Special Secret Game just goes on and on.

Last time I checked at most hotels you must subscribe to the porn to view it. Why or Why wasnt the mother watching them ? Hey heres an idea , less tv is good for your kids. How about giving them a book.
Just my two cents

just add it to the list..you either ignore it and let the consequences of such realities bite you later in some shape or form..or you acknowledge it now and realize how crazy America's freedom has become..

yes..this is an example of constitutional freedom at work. The power to sue, and the power to make mountains out of mole hills

I'm with polygirlaz - every hotel I've ever checked into required some form of authorization to view anything pornographic. So, either the mother entered the room at such a late hour that HBO or some indy channel had it's "special" programming or the mother ordered/paid for the porn (whether inadvertently or not).

This chick is going to need that money later when her daughters get into their teens. Kids today are more influenced by their peers than what they see on TV. If it's not OK'd by their peers, it's not acceptable. I'm seeing that money go to bailing them out of jail for smoking pot, paying for numerous medical bills toward birth control, raising her new grandkids when the girls fail to use said controls, and for the shotgun that will eventually blow her brains out.

All in all, this mother should have more responsibility to either keep her kids informed towards the nature of sex, or control her kid's every movement in their lives. Frankly, the latter would only push the girls further from her.

I came across soft porn in a hotel room once. For years I assumed it was why I had such a thing for lesbians. Turned out that was just because I'm a guy, and like most guys I just like to watch girls make out. Among other things.

On the other hand, porn should be restricted access, shouldn't it? I think hotels have a responsibility to see to that. I'd add something about the quality of American porn, but I probably shouldn't. Suffice to say that porn probably isn't the best introduction to sex.

So, so stupid. I probably wouldn't even have been bothered if my kids had seen a snippet of porn - either they'll not know about sex and what it is and not really understand what they're watching, or they will know about sex and it'll be a little late to 'protect' them.

In any case I wouldn't blame the hotel, they weren't controlling what the kids were watching, they weren't being forced to watch anything. It was just a little unfortunate. Suing people because of random events = complete fail xxx

Gregg Easterbrook has made this a topic of a couple of his columns. Showing characters smoking will now get you an NC-17 rating. Showing a psychopath torturing and beheading coeds will get you an R. I don't smoke, I think its disgusting but, seriously? Saw, Hostel and the like are R? Joe Camel is an NC-17?

I laughed for a moment until I realized my town isn't all that different or far from yours. Damn damn.

Oh well, you can always pay for it online... then you could sit in your own bathtub and watch it on your computer. Hey, win/win.
