I just took a tour of a metal plating and anodizing shop, where they were hard anodizing several thousand funny looking brackets. They said they were for supporting HMMWV seats and were designed to collapse and hopefully protect the passengers from spinal injuries if a bomb went off under them. They said it was an order for 3000 and as soon as they finish one order another one comes in the door. frown

Fortunately whoever planted that buried it too deeply. The bulk of the energy was dissipated moving dirt. Those guys were really lucky. May they stay thus.

But for us newbs it's illustrative to actually see that dirt moving. That's a lot of fucking energy.
