According to him anyway...

Today in his press conference, a reporter asked President Bush whether there was a "risk of a recession." Bush declined to answer, pointing out that he's never been very good at "Econ 101"

QUESTION: Do you think there's a risk of a recession? How do you rate that?

BUSH: You know, you need to talk to economists. I think I got a B in Econ 101. I got an A, however, in keeping taxes low and being fiscally responsible with the people's money...

He went on to say,

"I'm very fiscal. I work out all the time"

Same press conference surreal

"I thought an interesting comment was made - somebody said to me, I heard somebody say, "Now, where's Mandela?" Well, Mandela's dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas."

Bush later added that if it wasn't for his horse, he wouldn't have spent that year in college, and the heads of the press core spontaneously exploded.

No, their brains went, "Let's figure it out!" and they all had aneurisms.

Of course, we all know his problem. In his head, he hears the bell of an ice cream truck and gets all kerfuffled and confused.

I'm beginning to wonder about this "electing our leaders" thing.

(Not that I or anyone else outside the US did. "World" leader, maybe. Democracy, my arse.)

Now I know there's a lot of hooplah about picking the smartest man, the most rational man, whatever. But honestly, to be the most powerful man in the world you should probably know how to speak in fucking public without making a god-damned ass of yourself.

In all honesty, anybody can make mistakes. It's not so much the making an ass of himself as it is the impression that he's a low-functioning alcoholic. It's been said before; the guy sounds like he's got severe pathologies, and is likely fucked up from the coke and alcohol he abused earlier in life.

If it weren't for his daddy, he couldn't get elected to a school board, much less the President.

I think it took a few more people than that.

I don't mean that his daddy got people to vote for him, I mean that he's ostensibly famous because of his name, which would otherwise not be an advantage for him if he wasn't famous.
