I didn't know anything about this - all the BBC site says is that there was a crash, but not who was involved. Sad news.

His agent said he perished.


Its also very possible his 5 year old son died with him and two other unidentified people died with hem in the crash.

Not only was he a brilliant driver, he was well known to be a wonderfully friendly man, and would even get down and work on the cars with the mechanics, which many drivers don't do. Then to lose others at the same time. Very sad day. frown

I think I read about this crash earlier, but there was no mention of any names... was a shock to see McRae was involved. He always was my favourite rally driver; I haven't watched the WRC regularly since he left it. Terrible news.
