I can't make this shit up.

The man says he bit into a hamburger and had a severe allergic reaction to the cheese melted on it.

Jeromy Jackson, who is in his early 20s, says he clearly ordered two Quarter Pounders without cheese at the McDonald's restaurant in Star City before heading to Clarksburg.

His mother Trela Jackson and friend Andrew Ellifritz are parties to the lawsuit because they say they risked their lives rushing Jeromy to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

The lawsuit alleges Jeromy "was only moments from death" or serious injury by the time he reached the hospital.

Let me ask just one question: if you're so allergic to cheese, why didn't you double check the burger before you bit into it? Because, ya know, fast food workers are known to make the occasional mistake.

So, one time when I was around 14 years old, my best friend and I had a really hot waiter at a Mexican place we were at. I ordered my plate with no guacamole (texture thing) and when it came out with guacamole, I decided to hone my newish flirting skills as well as get my order fixed.

ME: So, I needed this with no guacamole, if you could change it when you get a second, I'd reaaaally appreciate it. (cue me batting large blue eyes and smiling flirtatiously)

HIM: Sure, no problem, miss.

ME: Oh, thanks, because I'm allergic to avacados. I get all swollen up and I start convulsively vomiting and .... stuff. (cue me realizing what was coming out of my mouth, my best friend almost chokes trying not to laugh, I'm wishing to die)

Guess I should have sued for emotional distress. Whodathunkit?

What a cunt. I really hope he gets fuck all. Though apparently an old lady got over 2 million for spilling hot coffee in her lap. Wow, now people get paid for being fuckin clumsy. Excellent!

Bet she'd have complained if it was too cold.

Oh and his mother and her friend? Just as bad really.

As much as I would love to see mcdonalds take a hit, I really want them to win here. Because this shit is fucking ridiculous.

the real surprise in this story is that a burger from mcdonalds contains enough of anything resembling real cheese to cause an allergic reaction. robot

I just read this article. Never heard of it before. So no, it wasn't lazy, or tired, it was me being misinformed by the article presented by the O.P.

This guy is still a cunt.

It's not like the cheese isn't clearly visible on those burgers - it's usually hanging off the damn sides! Try actually looking at the food before you shove it into your mouth, Jeromy.

Yeah most cheap ass cheese is called "processed cheese food" which is:

Pasteurized process cheese food is a variation of process cheese that may have dry milk, whey solids, or anhydrous milkfat added, which reduces the amount of cheese in the finished product. It must contain at least 51% of the cheese ingredient by weight, have a moisture content less than 44%, and have at least 23% milkfat.

Pasteurized process cheese spread is a variation on cheese food that may contain a sweetener and a stabilizing agent, such as the polysaccharide xanthan gum or the Irish moss colloid carrageenan, to prevent separation of the ingredients. The cheese must be spreadable at 70 F, contain 44 to 60% moisture, and have at least 20% milkfat.

Pasteurized process cheese product is process cheese that doesn't meet the moisture and/or milkfat standards.

Imitation cheese is made from vegetable oil; it is less expensive, but also has less flavor and doesn't melt well.

lots of interesting info.

I like how it's called "cheese food" because it's not actual cheese.

As far as I can tell, though, McDonald's uses processed cheese rather than processed cheese food.

According to this answer site,

The cheese used by McDonald's in its burgers is made in the same way as cheese you might buy in the supermarket. McDonald's uses a variety of cheeses for its food products. You will find a cheddar cheese slice (processed) in a Cheeseburger. The ingredients are as followed: Vegetarian cheddar cheese (55 percent), water, butter, whey powder, milk proteins, natural cheese flavouring, emulsifying salts (E331 trisodium citrate, E450 diphosphates, E452 polyphosphates), salt, preservative (E200 sorbic acid) and colour (E160a natural carotenes, E160c paprika extract). In some of the Deli Toasted Sandwiches you will find a Maasdam cheese slice which is made up of: Maasdam (Swiss style cheese) vegetarian Maasdam cheese (milk, salt, starter culture, coagulant (E509 calcium chloride), rennet, preservative (E251 sodium nitrate) and colour (E160a Beta-carotene).

Similar information comes from McDonald's New Zealand, who purchases all their processed cheese from Fonterra.

So, it looks like it actually is cheese; at least as much so as the Kraft American slices at your local supermarket.

Of course, McDonald's "beef" is actually made of earthworms, so I'm not really worried about the "cheese."

(Actually, earthworms are supposedly quite nutritious, and cost more per pound than beef. Earthworm burgers would be cost inefficient for McDonald's.)

I'd be inclined to believe he's jumping on his chance to make around a million dollars, rather than ten. He's likely hoping for some out-of-court hush money, aka a settlement. If McDonalds decides to actually take this to court, this guy will get crushed like.... an earthworm or something.

This is why we need a constitutional amendment to grant judges the right to say, "Get the fuck out of my courtroom and stop wasting my time you stupid sack of shit" to cases that are completely ridiculous.

Hey, can you hold someone in contempt for bringing a case in like this? I would love that.

That's some hot coffee. I wonder how hot the coffee was at the Wawa I used to work at, I used to spill it on my arms quite frequently but never even got first degree burns.

Maybe I'm just a reverse wolverine or something.

Thank you. I was joking about McDonald's burgers being made of earthworms. Not about their nutritional value, though; they're high in protein. But luckily they're too expensive to raise for food.

Hmmm, how about a nice big McFuck off?

Like I said, it isn't laziness - I didn't research something that was talked about in the article presented by the OP. Whoop de do. Surely the writer of that article is the one who was lazy and should have researched it. And I had never heard of said hot coffee incident before reading this:

"In one notorious instance in 1992, Stella Liebeck, a 79-year-old woman from Albuquerque, N.M., sued McDonald's after she suffered third-degree burns from spilling a hot cup of coffee in her lap."

But I'm sure everybody who ever reads an article researches every single thing that they read about within it.
whatever
