Well, the prudes at the New York Times have now warned us of the evils of securing a sexually attractive partner in life:

Will her face determine his fortune?

Here's the money quote:

Now, with the possible candidacy of Fred D. Thompson, the grandfatherly actor and former Republican senator from Tennessee, whose second wife is almost a quarter-century his junior, comes a less palatable inquiry that is spurring debate in Internet chat rooms, on cable television and on talk radio: Is America ready for a president with a trophy wife?

But what they don't tell you is that his wife is 40 years old. Granted, she's a very attractive 40 years old, but I would hardly claim that a 40 year old woman is a "trophy wife."

Also, what the fuck does this have to do with his politics?

Personally I feel that having an attractive sexual partner is positive indicator of a person's successes not a negative one.

There are several reasons to dislike Fred Thompson. His wife is not one of them...or at least should not be.

Didn't actually read it, did you?

Especially not where the deragatory comments were coming from other Republicans...

On a morning cable news show last month, Joe Scarborough, the commentator and former Republican congressman from Florida, compared Mrs. Thompson to a stripper.

Mr. Thompson's supporters, on their Web site draftthompson08.blogspot.com, put it this way: "It couldn't hurt diplomatic relations to have a smart, pretty blonde as first lady."

But that comment was quickly attacked. One writer described the May-December marriage as "gross," while others said Mrs. Thompson was an outright liability.

There are also positive coments from other people, too. Overall, it is a serious article addressing a serious issue.... and, as usual, you distort and misrepresent the story.

Way to be predictable, Lou!

Frankly, that's just as dumb as what you're alleging the New York Times was positing.

I think the First Lady's titties need a bit more support than that.

Plus, OMG! The pasties are $70 on their own? That would undoubtedly reflect badly on the administration.

It would be worse than Condi hitting up Ferragamo whenever it was that she was hitting up Ferragamo and got everyone all in a tizzy over it.

I know, but some dude in a suit following me around holding up my boobs might detract from the outfit, you know?

You're so selfish. I'm pretty sure there's more than enough to go around, anyway. And from what I hear I doubt they'd fit in your portfolio.

I should think that would depend on the suit. It could be accessorized accordingly.
