Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has it all. He has been quickly climbing the political ladder in California and becoming a major player for the Democratic Party. Many believe he will be a future Governor, Senator or even President. He was featured on the cover of Newsweek and listed in Time as one of the nations 25 most influential Latinos. In 2006, he was chosen to deliver the Democratic Party's Spanish-language response to Bush's State of the Union address.
Villaraigosa started as a labor organizer, and then became a City Councilman, after which he moved to the California State Assembly where he became the Speaker. In May of 2005 he was elected mayor of Los Angeles, becoming the first Latino mayor since 1872. Then he met a hot lady and started fucking her.
Last month Villaraigosa revealed that he was splitting from his wife of 20 years. Seemed an odd choice for a politician in this day and age. Many politicians choose to stay in marriages for appearances, even after the love is gone.
Telemundo television anchor Mirthala Salinas delivered the shocking news to viewers that evening.
"The rumors were true," she declared of the split after an introduction that described the story as a "political scandal" that had left "many people with their mouth open."
Salinas left out the part about how she was fucking the mayor. Local media dug into the story and came up with proof of their affair. This week Villaraigosa and Salinas separately confirmed that they were involved.
Salinas said that although she and the mayor "are both public figures, I hope that everyone can understand and respect my desire to maintain my privacy when it comes to personal relationships."
Uh, no. You had an affair with a mayor of Americas second biggest city. You are pretty much fucked as far as privacy goes. The LA Times has already tracked their relationship back at least 18 months.
In November 2005 four months after he was sworn into office Villaraigosa was seen one evening by a resident of the Sherman Oaks condominium complex where Salinas lived at the time.
Jean Rouda recalled pulling into the garage about 9 p.m. and seeing Villaraigosa standing alone and buzzing to get into the building. Rouda said she recognized the mayor and was surprised that he had no security guards and that there was no limousine parked nearby. She said she and her niece entered the lobby, where they encountered Villaraigosa, who was wearing a dress shirt and slacks, and was carrying bags of takeout food and a bottle of wine.
Nice work, you naughty boy. A little food, a little wine and then some sweet, sweet sex. Oh, and your career is fucked. Or is it?
Villaraigosa already does not have the best track record when it comes to keeping his cock in the right vagina. He has two daughters born out of wedlock and his wife previously filed for divorce in 1994. Back then, the reason was the same: An affair. But the couple managed to reconcile and live happily ever - or for 13 years, which is kind of the same thing. Even with all that baggage he has managed to become Mayor of Los Angeles. But Los Angeles is a very liberal city; the rest of California and the nation may not be so forgiving.
Comments on the LA Times message board are pretty evenly split down the middle. Many think it is a private matter, others think it is a sign of his character, especially considering how he always portrayed himself as a family man. He may have just killed his rising star. Or fucked it to death.

Does this mean we can start calling him Tony "Boom-Boom" Villaraigosa? Cause I would love that.
It kinda makes me want to stab something that people would really care so much about a little affair, when the real bigwigs are fucking the entire nation.

i really really don't give a shit where he puts his cock, it's none of our goddamn business
agreed.
however, regardless of whether it is "our business" or not, he can't very well be surprised that the media would cover this. i have no sympathy for him here, but it also doesn't affect my evaluation of his performance as mayor.
When are people going to face up to the fact that public declarations of lifelong monogamy (i.e. marriages) are a stupid farce that nobody really adheres to? Like...nobody. Nowhere. Unadulterated marriages are the exception, not the other way around.
Well. Dude is/was married. Did have kids. Did hurt some people in this process. Did take *vows* of marriage and pparently did not have an "open" marriage (see prior near-divorce reason),
Just becuase it does not directly affect his political performance (which is a whole other subject) does not mean it is the right, good or decent thing to do.
And if a person whill do that--break the trust/vow with someone he supposedly loves--how much backbone could he possibly have? EWven if it was a "marriage of political convenience."
And before someone freaks out: I do not think this is in any way a legal matter. But it does speak to her personality and lack of character.
Anyway - I think the guy, without this latest indiscretion, is a smarmy player and I have never liked him (and I mean like in a public/political figure sense, on 'hey, let's be friends....').

1) Do you really beleive that?
2) Even if it is a fact, it does not make it the right or decent thing to do.
Just because there are more people who lack character than those who have character, does that make it RIGHT or GOOD?
That's Los Angeles for you...everybody doesn't give a crap about themselves. So we care about the celebrities and politicians. No wonder society sucks.
