i HIGHLY disagree that a candidate's political experience and the type of tie he wears is comparable at all. somehow that just doesn't compute.
I said "in the current context", meaning they're more comparable now than they normally would be (or should be).
When the next president of the US is decided, you will have had almost 8 years of an entirely incompetent administration being at the helm.
To harp on at a candidate who does not show signs of blithering ineptitude based on him not being "experienced enough" in such a context does seem to me to be of a similar order of magnitude of importance as his tie choice.
Just by not being an total idiot or a fundamentalist in denial about the world, Obama's experience relative to the current President's should be adjusted into dog years.

My concern is that either one of them wins the primary and loses to any Republican who is a white male. I realize we are progressing as a nation, but with the past few elections being so close an issue such as a non-white or female candidate may be enough to tip the scales towards the right wing again...
I think this is a valid concern. as an outsider (i am from australia) i witness the american physcie as an individual, not as a bunch of individuals such as yourself. watching from outside of the box, i don't see america (the person) not the bunch of intellegent people that DIDN'T vote for GBUSHJNR ... i don't see the individual "america usa" voting for either a woman or a non-white. having said that though, i hope you don't mind me having an opinion, but what happens in usa has such an impact on the rest of the world ... having said that, i hope one of them wins :-). good luck usa.

ps: i saw the same thing when my usa aunt from SANFRAN said that there was no way anyone would vote for ARNIE. it was so obvious to her, but from AU it was obvious AS would win by a landslide ...
