I've done the math and with a nine month gestation period there really isn't any way to make it pay out decently.

In the time before abortion, single parents and childcare, there existed a practice called "baby farming" Unwanted children would be given, with a payment to someone that could "take care of them". Unfortunately, some of the children would accidently die from unpreventable diseases, such as malnutrition or suffocation.

Of course this didn't solve the problem of how to deal with fuckwits who won't hire pregnant women, or kick pregnant teenagers our of school, or make it impossibly expensive to have children in hospital.

Are there any available women who want to move to Texas with me and start a baby farm? I need like 20 of them to make and money. You also would need to pay for our food and housing and I get to keep 80%.
Holy fuck. If he wasn't republican this would be the most crazy fucking idea I have heard since those people that voted for bush.

I'm sorry. I know this is both irrelevant and completely off-topic, but I read this and couldn't help but see it as "e-babies," which presumably would some sort of weird, Tamagotchi-esque piece of Japanese pop-kitsch.

Yes, I know I'm weird.

Oh my fucking God...that is all I have to say.

Oh except they'd have to pay me like $5,000 if they wanted me to do that. Jesus...$500 is nothing.

Tamagotchis are, actually, still weirdly popular among a certain set (fairly young children, I believe.). It's just not something that's readily noticed except for the occasional "Wha?" product like Tamagotchi Corner Shop for the DS.
