President Bush is continuing on his journey of destroying America. Today we learned that on December 20th George gave himself the right to open people’s mail without a warrant. But don’t worry, it’s only totally fucking illegal.

Bush gave himself the new power during the congressional winter recess when he signed a postal reform bill, then jotted a little “signing statement” at the bottom. The statement gave him the ability to open people’s mail under emergency conditions. If he had read above his signing statement he would have seen that the bill reinforced current protections of mail from searches without a warrant. Past presidents would have used this thing called a veto, which was created to force the different branches of government to compromise. But now you can apparently just jot down a contradictory statement at the bottom of a congressional bill.

A Senate Intelligence Committee aid promised they will look into Bush’s totalitarian move. Many in Congress were not happy.

But Bush seems to have a lack of understanding of the separate government powers that were established by the Founding Fathers, as well as how those powers operate.

No shit.

This is why I stopped sending pure heroin through the mail.

The funniest part is I just assume they already do check peoples mail any way, but to claim the right to legally as a sub note on a bill to strengthen public mail protection is just bit rediculious.

Though I am fairly firm in the believe that he is like a bully on the play ground..after he first started getting away with things he never stopped. There was a lot of talk, and scolding
but over all he has been getting away with one thing after another since/before he took office...and like a bully that never really got punished he kept pushing the boundies with his gall as well as disregard for rules.

That's the story of his whole life. He's never had to work hard for anything, and he's never had to face the consequences of anything.
