John Kerry, who lost an election to one of the worst presidents in US history, thinks it is time for America to move past the cliche ramblings about Bush and Iraq. Why not just ask us to forget 9/11? We won't. Ever.

A week before the November 7th election, Kerry made an attempt at hilarity when he said people might "get stuck" in Iraq if they did not study hard or didn't do their homework. He actually meant to say that George Bush didn't study or do his homework...that's how we got stuck in Iraq?! Ha, ha_shit, that's funny. How did he lose to Bush with such a sharp wit?

While on Larry King Live, Kerry was asked about the "joke." Kerry implied that its time to get the fuck over it.

"This is getting silly," Kerry said, "The country needs to think about a policy that has young men and women at risk on a daily basis that is not working."

Okay, then, wasn't that simple. Let's move onto the fact that a recent poll lists Kerry as one of the most unpopular politicians in the country. Kerry was last in a Quinnipiac poll that asked people to rate the warmth of their feelings for leaders on a scale of 0-100. Kerry was five spots behind Bush.

15) President George Bush_43.8 (1)

16) Sen. Evan Bayh_43.3 (75)

17) Newt Gingrich_42 (15)

18) Sen. Bill Frist_41.5 (53)

19) Sen. Harry Reid_41.2 (61)

20) Sen. John Kerry_39.6 (5)

Kerry believes his low rating is due to the fact that the poll was taken just after his botched joke and not because he is a boring, awful, long-winded speaker who refuses to quit while he's ahead.

Don't try to smooth over Bush's failings. Worst president in the history of all the universes - even the parallel ones. The only person who could be worse is Satan himself. Fortunately, he's only the VP.

I think Al Franken puts the Bush vs Kerry argument into perspective: smear, fear, and queers.

Sure, the country is in the worst debt it's ever been, the crusade in Iraq is failing, jobs are being lost, the environment is getting ruined, and public education is dwindling... but THERES NO WAY WERE LETTING TWO GUYS GET MARRIED. THAT'S JUST CROSSING THE FUCKING LINE RIGHT THERE.

I dunno. Selling his soul to Cheney in order to assassinate Bush? I'm betting Reaper's a bit conflicted on that one.

No, no, no... Not "assassinate". Bush and Cheney will go on a "hunting trip"... wink

I supported Kerry in the last election simply because there was no alternative... How could I live with myself if I had voted for 4 more years of Bush??? Personally I would like nothing more than to see Kerry go away and for the Democrats to come up with a real candidate for the 2008 election.

Um, yeah, people kinda do need to get over that comment. It never would have gotten major media attention, except that the Republicans were going down in flames so they needed a scandal to pin on the Democrats and this was the best one they could come up with.

In some cultures, any person who actually is immature enough to desire to be in a position of power is recognized as unsuitable. Time for a loya jirga. If that doesn't work, I'm for a Ouija board before another set of politicians. Or a roulette wheel.

Considering FTR primarily only rights about Bush, I cant wait for the day Bush is out of office just so FTR will shut the fuck up... And then someone else can pick up where he left off and bash the new president (democrat or republican) on a daily basis. One thing that stands out in history is the fact that no matter who is in the White House, the American people will never be happy with it. Doesn't matter if its war, taxes, abortion, gay marriage, or whatever, the majority will complain because they have nothing better to do, know more about whats going on in the world or that they know how to fix things. If that's the case run for government office and do something...

Oh and as for the person that commented "Um, yeah, people kinda do need to get over that comment. It never would have gotten major media attention, except that the Republicans were going down in flames so they needed a scandal to pin on the Democrats and this was the best one they could come up with." - Yeah and like the democrats havent jumped on every opportunity they have had to blast Bush or any other republican for things they have said or done big or small. Thats the ugly side of politics and it goes both ways.

Perhaps, except you seem to be missing an important point; Bush enjoys(sic) the lowest rating in history. Morever, I am going to assert that since his popularity has been in the toilet for so long, he probably deserves the rating and whatever criticism can be leveled.

He might even lose, as well.

Anyway that poll question is completely skewed, the question asked was not about job approval or would they make a good elected official.
The question was how much you liked these particular people in terms of feelings. So even though a majority of the country thinks bush is a complete and total tard, many people still like him as a person in the "Golly gee-wizz huck-huck, he's just like me" way.
Kerry, on the other hand is a cold rambling unlikable prick. Of course he would rank behind bush in a high school style popularity contest question. whatever

I have warm-fuzzy feelings toward John Kerry. Those Quinnippiac people clearly didn't call me.

And it is time to get the fuck over the joke. I'm glad he said as much.
