I..uh. confused

I wonder why people who have family members serving in Iraq would be opposed to peace. They must hate their family members.

Why does peace hate our freedom?

The peas would really rather you not associate them with those people.

That's so sad that a peace sign is considered "divisive," especially as part of a Christmas display...

KJV Bible, Luke Chapter 2
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I'd say a peace sign is perfectly appropriate as part of a Christmas display.

I'm so glad someone else found that verse, I was about to have to attempt to find it.

What a bunch of fucking douchies.

Although I'm one of those godless lefties who hasn't been to Mass (outside of a friend's wedding or two) for a good 10-12 years, I've read the Bible many times (yes, the whole damn thing).

This helps me find the verses I like to use to call "good Christians" total hypocrites. biggrin biggrin

Wait tho your forgetting that most of the bible thumpers start at the old testament, stop at the new testament and then start again right at revelation. You don't need to actually do anything Jesus said, only believe in him.....

You're all just mad because at some point your HOA made you mow your lawn!

My buddy at work lives in an HOA neighborhood. They only allow certain color bulbs in outside lights, you can only have lights up your walk way and one by your door, you have to use certain colors of paint, plants can't be larger than X...the list goes on and on.

I can understand the purpose of an HOA: to keep the neighborhood looking nice. However, some go way too far. What's worse are the dip-shits who are the "leaders" (whatever you want to call them) of these HOAs that are on some sort of power-trip over the whole ordeal.

Bobbie Fucking Dooley at work here.

I miss Bobbie Dooley. Even more than I missed her after the show went batshit conservative and Bobbie inexplicably became a Democrat after everything she ever said or did always SCREAMED Republican.

This is exactly what I thought about when I first read about this (not the actual chapter/verse, but the more well known final phrase). All I could think is: "What if someone had a light display that read 'Peace on Earth..etc'?"

For those of you who don't know, Pagosa Springs lies not far from the much more progressive town of Durango, yet struggles for tourism despite its natural hot springs, access to spectacular fishing, proximity to Mesa Verde, and the surrounding beautiful landscape; largely because it has a reputation for housing right wing nut jobs.

This guy has doomed his existence in this town striving to attract outsiders and justify home prices rivaling Durango. This is not the kind of attention PS wanted and while some folks may pat him on the back as he walks downtown; most will mutter something about how he set the economic advancement back 10 years. The best he can hope for is that someone does not post a sign on him labeled 'plague,' which would seem appropriate.

That's actually what I thought about too.

That and how Linus needs to tell these people what the true meaning of Christmas is.

Sounds like subversive commie talk to me. Next thing you'll be tellijng us that Jesus was some kind of long-haired, pacifist, hippy who told people to turn the other cheek and to give their wealth to the poor.

Who wants to get a camel to go through the eye of a needle anyway?

Anyway, everyone knows that the CND symbol is a Satanic symbol...it stands to reason because we all know how much Satan hates war and loves peace! Of course the wreathe was intended to be a Satanic anti-Iraq war symbol. Why would good old, peace-loving, kind-to-small-children-and-puppies Satan want a war in Iraq with large numbers of people being killed and maimed and sectarian violence escalating out of control?

That would be just plain evil now wouldn't it?

...oh...wait a minute... doh!

wink

Some residents who have complained have children serving in Iraq

And they want the war to continue and possibly their child is killed?

Especially at this time of year.

Peace on Earth, good will towards men? Put that on next years Christmas list. whatever
