So I got some snow where I live (upstate New York, yes there is more to New York State than New York City!), but it did not stick for a day. Does this count as the first snow fall of the season or no?

So far only 2 snows, but melted by Noon. Slush forecast for Sunday & Monday.

The snow lasted overnight (had to shovel for a bit....but I also live at an apartment complex, so it was 4 places, the sidewalk, and a walkway). yes, the complex plows, but we like to keep our area clean.

I live in PA, so I see snow every winter. I love snowboarding (but I've only been once, and I suck at it) but other than for recreation, snow isn't that fun. Think about it, you have to shovel it off of and away from your car before you drive on slippery snowy and icy roads to work, where you can barely park because there are piles of snow and you slip across the parking lot because people left their cars there overnight and the plows couldn't clear it very well.
And it's cold. Very cold. And makes everything soggy, and when you shovel it you are cold and sweaty and that's not fun either.
But, I'd trade it for the hot humid sticky can't walk from the house to the car summers that I remember from visiting my grandparents house every year when I was younger.

I LOVE snow...in fact, the day I came home from the hospital after my birth, was one of the biggest snowstorms in that area of MO for over 50 years. Snow is in my blood...
My girlfriend, and several other of my native friends, have never seen snow so we plan on taking a snowboarding trip around Xmas time.
