This is such a great topic to talk about and itās something I know really well (now after years) so Iād be really happy if this could help anyone in need as wellš«¶š»
Iāve started to take care of my mental health since I was 12, Iāve asked for help at a very early age after my parents got a divorce, I thought for years it was just depression and a very bad case of anxiety (diagnosed by a psychiatrist and a psychologist) turns out, after almost 15 years that I have cyclotimic personality disorder, which is very similar to bipolar disorder so very high highs and very low lows, Iāve started taking the right meds and Iāve felt like I could finally live my life like a normal happy person again.
My mom was my biggest support system, she was with me when self harm got out of control and helped me get out of it together with my doctors and meds. It is now one full year that I didnāt do anything to hurt myself anymore, Iāve met an amazing person that accepted me as I was, accepted my problems and is always willing to help me out in any way, I also got really close to my family again and better than before, Iāve had the courage to ābreak upā with fake people and fake friends and Iāve never felt better.
I am very happy in this moment in life and Iām glad I can watch my scars thinking that Iāve made it through the roughest moments in life and Iāve a big reminder adorned with flowers on my arm about that last time Iāve done anything bad to myself.
Always talk about your feelings, if your friends wonāt let you talk about it or wonāt hear you, they are not your friends; always ask for help if you feel like you need it, donāt be ashamed and also talk about āuncomfortableā topics; there are a lot of telephone lifelines around the world if you feel like nobody around you can help, just have a look online as well
Sorry for the lenght of this blog post but I felt like talking about it was fundamental;
Love yāall, ask for help and never be ashamed of who you are and how you feel.
