Swine flu retrospective: the story thus far
Day 1: small tickle in my throat, gradually turned into a minor cough (This would be Monday, the day after PAX)
Day 2: coughing is more frequent, upset stomach/light nausea, headaches, fever and chills (Tuesday evening I would come to learn of the H1N1 outbreak at PAX)
Day 3: Coughing, headaches, weary, nauseous and fever. (This is Wednesday, the day I came home. I got home around 3 pm, I sat up for a little bit before I went to bed)
Day 4: Still coughing and feverish with headaches and upset stomach, but still feeling capable. Went to the Dr. and got the info I needed to know. Apparently up here in Canada they won't do a test for swine flu unless you're pretty much in the hospital on a respirator. (and before you Yanks can make a crack about the healthcare system; I set up an appointment, checked in, got checked and left without any cost)
Day 5: So far Friday was the worst of the deal. I was congested, nauseous, fevered, sweaty achy and completely exhausted. I quite literally slept for 20 hours, drank some water and ate some crackers.
Day 6: Today i'm feeling a bit better than yesterday, i'm coherent and able to follow whats happening on TV if I happen to turn it on. Drinking gatorade, water and ginger ale. Also managed to eat again
Here's hopin I don't feel like complete garbage for too long.
