Rest in Peace SSG Nathan Cox, proud father of a Sophia Cox (5),and the husband of Annie, our Family Readiness Support Assistant for the Longhorns in ft. hood tx (my husband's unit). I've met his wife about two weeks before his death at a deployment briefing, but did not personally know him. Nathan was a Team Leader in 1/26 IN, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He died of wounds suffered when his vehicle struck an IED on 09/20/2008.
I saw this news clip from msnbc, and it is by far, the most accurate thing the media has captured as to how it's like and what is going on in trashganistan. (Thank god Nate, my husband is in Iraq and not there.)
The footage in this video is of the Korengal Valley, the location SSG Cox lost his life. I find it nearly impossible to watch this with dry eyes.
