got my car out this morning. drove home. told my mom that vimes and i were getting married. and she was okay with it! even better, she was happy! congratulated me and hugged me and got on the horn with all her soccer mom friends and my stepdad et al. so i had a really pleasant day with her and my siblings, decorating the house and telling her about vimes and answering about a bajillion questions. she's not crazy about me wanting to get married in red. (i didn't even bother telling her that i'd be wearing my knee high doc martens underneath.) i still have to get a hold of my other sister and my stepmom, but as soon as i do i'm so changing my facebook status! and getting rid of that money pit i drive and moving my ass to manhattan as fast as my little legs will take me.
christmas eve with the jews (well, these jews anyway) consisted of chinese takeout, cops reruns, st germain and vodka tonics, the first round of the 24 hour christmas story marathon on tbs, and wrapping last minute presents. setting them up around the christmas orchid- since we never got around to buying a tree, we stuck my mothers prized orchid in the tree stand, tied a bow around the planter, and stuck the tree topper in it.
a better pic of the ring, for those of you who are in a squealing girl mood:
and i will do my damndest to not turn into that asshole who speaks of nothing but wedding planning shit for the next year and a half. because as exciting and interesting as it is to us, i'm confident from previous experiences that it is *not* so interesting to the rest of ye's. so if i start going overboard feel free to slap me.
anyway. onto the boobies. my fiancee is convinced that if he shoots me, we can finally get a zoo set live. i have faith in his sweet sweet camera abilities but i still feel a bit silly about the whole thing. we did some test shots the other night before he left. what do you think?
hope you all have a merry fishmas!
I just let you in the planners group, so feel free to run wild with your bad self talking about planning in there.
And, if there's anything I can do, let me know!
