so here's what i'm thankful for. since i have some time to kill before i finish cooking dinner.
gonzo77, who puts up with my farting and crankiness and weirdo habits (like compulsively cleaning up after him, whether or not he is done with whatever he is doing). he listens to me, and gives me a shoulder to cry on when i need, does the dishes all the frickin time, makes me laugh till my sides hurt, puts a smile on my face no matter how shitty things are, keeps me warm at night, and just generally makes my life better and happier every single day. i love him so much.
great friends, both on sg and off. but since you folks are on here, i'll just say thanks to you for also making my life awesome. (especially the fine folks from SGNJ!) not going to name names specifically because inevitably i will forget someone, but i will say that had i known how much my life would've changed when i signed up for sg last year, i would've submitted it sooner. i fuckin love the community on here.
my family- because even though they are a bunch of dipshits sometimes, they are still my family. i dunno, i love em. especially my 3 siblings, who continue to amaze me every single day. they are the coolest fuckin kids i know.
my job. i love my job! my coworkers are great, the work is fun and easy and yet challenging, the hours are fantastic, the pay is enough to get by, it's not too stressful, the commute is really not so bad at all even on a bad day, and i am rarely if ever bored.
my health- i usually have one annoying little thing or another going on, but in general i am healthy and "normal".
randomotica: i love my apartment, i have money in the bank, a car that is still running even though i beat the shit out of it, i have enough free time to be creative, and i have the freedom to enjoy life.
of course, it doesn't need to be thanksgiving to feel blessed about what you have. i don't know if i ever mentioned this here, but a few years ago i started sponsoring a child in nepal. i realized that even though i could be doing much "better" by american standards (whatever the hell they may be), i feel like i am doing great. so i decided i could spare $24 a month (now it's up to $29) for someone across the world who doesn't have a bathroom, or electricity, or even a floor in her house. money well spent i think, as i would probably spend it on clothes or beer or some other crap that i just don't need. twice a year or so i get a photograph, and a letter, and sometimes a little drawing she's done. it's the greatest feeling, you should try it sometime!
anyway, i guess i should get back to those cornish hens and homemade stuffing. happy thanksgiving kids, and watch out for the food coma!
