good gravy! had a really crazy night last night. i went out for birthday drinks in the west village with some ladies i work with (and the token straight guy). those girls are great! we got pretty fuckin bombed. the bar we went to was called kettle of fish and it's really cool- sorta small bar, lots of books on the walls, a quality irish bartender, and a jukebox full of punk and rock. ran into stiles and minimalism after a bit. good times were had by all until my coworker started puking on the floor of the bar. luckily these two guys came to my rescue- helped me walk around the puke, stuffed me into a cab, and drove me back to my car in hoboken. thank god for good friends!
on the way through the tunnel i started freaking out because i couldn't find my keys anywhere. i dumped out my purse in the backseat and got everyone in a panic... until i remembered that my car was parked in a lot so my keys were safe! i'm so goofy sometimes. got home just in time to meet my boy at the diner for some late night legs and eggs.
this morning i started rifling through my purse again and realized my camera was missing! i actually started crying- like i *never* lose shit and all of a sudden i feel like i'm losing everything- but it turns out i left it in the backseat of stiles car. fucking idiot. i took a lot of pictures too. can't wait to get that camera back soon.
so the boy is participating in that month long writing challenge where you write a book starting november 1st and you see if you can get to 175 pages by the 30th. he went to work on it this morning and the file was CORRUPTED. all 26,000 words of it! things were pretty crazy around here for a few minutes but i was determined to figure it out. four hours later i managed to recover it. i downloaded this program called docrepair- it was a demo version and the software was supposed to cost $79. so i downloaded a keygen program and the book was safe once again. thank god infinity introduced me to pirated software. i was really proud of myself... and really proud of my boy for sticking to this challenge. he's taking it very seriously and working really hard on it. and he told me his story idea before he started working on it and it's really interesting. i can't wait to read it when he's finished.
once the splitting headache i was carrying around all day subsided a bit, i went out for coffee with justblaze, aka clifton, aka stovetop. got him to try grape leaves. my favorite snack! dragged him back home to sit around laughing with gonzo about bathroom disasters and to watch animation domination. so it's been a nice day overall.
btw i gave gonzo his bday present a little early- i got him a wii. he was soooo excited! don't you all want to come over and play with us?
i discovered that now that i'm 26 i have to get my own car insurance if i'm not living at my parents anymore. i am a little spoiled in that respect- i've offered to pay for my share of the insurance but my parents always tell me not to worry about it. (but considering the $20k in student loan debt i've got because they didn't pay for college, i think it's more than fair). so far my quotes are hovering around $575 for the year, which is really reasonable for new jersey. i think i can swing that.
i also started a 401k at work this week! whoo i'm so responsible! it's going to be small, since my employer doesn't match my savings. but they contribute to a pension that i am eligible for after 5 years, so i will one day have a 401k and a pension. look at me, being all adult like. it's fuckin weird. i try to make up for it by being a silly girl as much as i can.
xanadu went really well friday. cheyenne jackson, the leading man, is back from whatever was keeping him on hiatus so i got to do changes with him. he is SO fucking nice and really really cute. he's one of those rare super gay men that get me weak in the knees.
aright, maybe time to pop into chat. or maybe just fart around online some more. i don't have anything to worry about this week except what to wear to the blackout party wednesday- and i've already got that covered. so i'm looking forward to a healthy, stress free, three day work week. followed by my first attempt at thanksgiving dinner! we've decided a turkey is much too big for just the two of us so i'm going to cook cornish hens instead, with all the trimmings. yay for small birds!
ok kids...xoxoxo
