so i assed out last night at 1030. been feelin like crap physically (and a little bit mentally too). slept like the dead through this crazy thunderstorm we had out here in ny/nj.

since i don't watch tv in the morning, or ride the nyc subway, i had no clue what was going on this morning until i got to work. apparently all the subways and the path train flooded??? nj transit only had minor delays, for a change. the 3 other people that made it in to work on time were shocked that i made it at all. so my coworkers trickled one at a time, with the latest person arriving around 1. he'd been stuck on a train from inwood with no air conditioning, since like 830, all the way to midtown- poor guy was literally dripping sweat.

i took a short lunch yesterday so i decided that i wanted to catch the early train home tonight. there were still lingering delays, and i was about to miss my connection when the conductor came through to collect my ticket.
"where you going?"
"uh...seacaucus?"
"this train doesn't stop at seacaucus."
FUCK!
so i had to double back at newark penn at rush hour, while there's all these problems with the trains. it's hot and it's crowded and newark penn is this old ass, crumbling, poorly signed piece of crap train station with crackheads lurking in every corner. if this shit keeps up tomorrow i swear i'm going to take a vacation day and go shopping.
